rage against the x-factor - Outcome: RATM is the Christmas Number One!

No-one was talking about RATM until some guy dug it up in his loft a few weeks ago.

It was pretty prominant in the Matrix series, been in the soundtrack to Entourage, Grand Theft Auto, Charlies Angels, Godzilla... They've done ok for themselves...

A platinum album is 1,000,000 sales.

The band's debut album, Rage Against the Machine, reached triple platinum.

Rage Against The Machine's second album, Evil Empire, entered Billboard's Top 200 chart at number one in 1996, and subsequently rose to triple platinum status

Their album The Battle of Los Angeles also debuted at number one selling 450,000 copies the first week and then going double-platinum.

It doesn't look to me like no-one has heard of them, nor that young Joe McDingleberry will be able to come close to that success.

I spose he needs something to pass the time between tugging himself off over his pile of Joe whatshisname singles :o.

While I wish Joe all the best and do not begrudge him anything, the message is clear in that people, including myself, are sick to the back teeth of manufactured garbage / reality TV that the X-Factor and suchlike churns out.

I absolutely wish Joe all the best on the karaoke circuit. I look forward to seeing him headline my local pub in the near future.

Mate I've been listening to Rage for years. I have all of their albums on my USB stick in my car and they get regularly listened to on my mp3 player.

It seems there are a few million people who disagree with you.

Not listened to Rage for a couple of years, awful song...they have made much better ones. This one does fit the purpose of this stunt very well though :)

Hopefully Cowell take the hint...and gives us rock-factor :D

TurnipHead, you are a mess. Please shut the **** up.

Rage feature 4 of the most talented musicians to emerge out of the past 20 years.

Joe will be forgotten about in 2 years, complete nobody.

Simon Cowell offers Rage campaigners jobs after they stop Joe McElderry getting to number one... but they turn him down

Cowell said he was 'genuinely impressed' by their campaign which he said had no funding and had not resorted to dirty tricks.

'I offered them jobs at my record company. It could be in marketing or even running the company!' he told the Daily Mirror.

'I wanted them to come and work for us. I was deadly serious but they haven't taken me up on the offer.'

No thanks: Jon and Tracy Morter, who led the Facebook campaign which ended the talent show's four-year run of number ones, turned down his job offers.

Cowell told the newspaper he now realised he had "taken too much for granted" and now accepted that some people do not like The X Factor.

When the chart was revealed yesterday, Cowell said: 'I am gutted for Joe because a number one single meant a lot to him, but I have to congratulate Jon and Tracy.

I wonder what the exact jobs and wages were and why they turned the job down.

The only reason he/she is staying in this thread is because of posts like this, do yourself a favour and don't feed the troll.
