Hello people,

Been reading motors for far too long now, and now need some advice on a car! Am thinking about buying this
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1398166.htm

Looks almost too good to be true, but the buyer seems genuine and lives close to me so think I am going to take a look

What do you think? Certainly seems to be a reasonable spec, but am I missing something?

Thanks! :D

Very well specced, I wouldn't let the wheels put you off. You can get a decent set of MV1s with good tyres for about £250 if it does bother you. Worth a look I'd say.

It doesn't look like it has the centre armrest - I suppose you can grab one from a scrapyard quite easily and fit it yourself (console isn't hard to remove) but why do people opt not to have the armrest when buying new? it's just wrong not having the armrest!

Are they fake wheels? They don't seem to look quite right, especially the rears. I suppose big wheels were destined to look naff with the SE high suspension.

They look like reps yes, only because the rears aren't wider. Can't see anything wrong with the front ones though looks wise?

So what's the main differences between a sport and an se? Is it worth holding out for a sport?

Sport adds anthracite headlining, dechrome, M Tech bodykit and wheels and M steering wheel. They look better but at this money the chances of a good one are lower as they are more sought after. Better chance of an SE owned by a nice old chap as well.

Sorry to bump my old thread, but am still on my quest to find my perfect 330!
Am very tempted to have a look at this http://*******.com/yascps6
But the seller is insisting on cash only, which is making me a bit worried. Does the car look ok? I haven't seen those wheels on any 330 which I haver seen, are they an option?
Thanks

URL is starred out so I cant see it. Cash only (or cheque etc which are technically forms of cash payment) is normal for private sellers?

Interesting. On paper its the ideal E46 - it has the right spec (Xenons and Nav and Leather) and its only one owner from new. Brilliant - cars like that are few and far between.

But then the alarm bells ring. It has the 17" wheels from a 4 cylinder 2003-2005 E46 Sport. Why are they fitted to a 330Ci? What happened to the original wheels and why? Then there is the advert. It's not brilliantly written at all, is it? Does it strike you as the sort of thing written by the kind of person who, back in 2002, 8 years ago, had £30,000 to spend on a brand new BMW?

'drive perfect' - really? Great. full.bmw.service.history..... what? Strange way of writing that.

Then... the price. Thats the sort of money you need to pay if you want a 5 owner from new scabbytastic nail. Yet here is a loaded 1 owner car with less than average miles for £5850...

Doesn't feel right to me.

Still, it has '2 seat of keys', which is nice. Though it only has one rear parking sensor :D

I'll leave it to somebody else to judge whether thats the sort of area you'd expect to find people who can spend £30,000 on cars as a private buyer to live.
