Apparently the car was stolen in the dead of night. When they saw, in the cold light of the day, the 'mods' that the owner had done to it and how ugly it was, they dumped it :D

All's well that ends well!

Ummm...that's not actually an R26.R is it? Looks like a standard 225 with R26.R decals on it. Plus it's got the wrong wheels, the wrong bonnet etc. and most tellingly the R26.R wasn't produced until 2008 yet that car is on a 56 plate.

That's a good spot and raises a very good question as to what is going to happen to it.

I did wonder why it was on a 56 plate.

Given the R26.R is a very desireable peice of kit is it not fair to say his fake badges made it more attractive to theives?

I wonder what the insurance company will say about his fake R26.R?

Yeah, I wonder if he told them about the decals etc... they could argue that is why it was stolen etc...

So has it been recovered?

It probably was stolen because of the decals. If it was a done to order job, someone would want a R26.R, not a R26.R replica.

Guess work, could have been two crackheads looking through windows and doors for keys on the side or easy access.

Hundreds of cars get stolen like this, we only hear about the unique ones because it's easy to spot them and enthusiasts post these threads on the interwebs.

Hi guys, im actually the owner of this car, and muchly appreciate the smartarse responses by some of you. Yes, it is an R26, no, its not an R26.R, and i've never claimed it to be. I had the choice between F1 Team or R26.R decals, and chose the R26.R ones as I prefer them, whats wrong with that?

Appreciated the support for people saying they'd look out for it at first, then the general slagging of my stolen car seems a bit unfair.

Didn't ask for a debate about how it looked, and quite frankly after being awake for 48 hours, spending the entire day getting every lock and door replaced in my house, and spending the entire evening tracking down my car (Which is actually still in the area, as I almost managed to block it off in a road), I didn't really expect to come back here to find this.

A friend helped me out by posting this on here, it was his mistake to call it an r26r, ive not claimed it to be an r26.r as its quite clearly not.

Keep your smartarse remarks to yourself (individually directed at certain people), and if you aren't willing to help someone whos just had their £20,000 car stolen on christmas day after being burgled, then id appreciate no input at all.

And for the record, No im not a chav.

Cheers.

Last time I checked, insurance companies don't clamp down on chavs for sticking "16v" or "turbo" badges to the back of their little cars, so I doubt im going to get screwed by insurance for having DECALS on my car.

Don't worry guy, it's nothing personal. This is one of the most belittling and condescending forums around. Pretty much everyone has their integrity questioned at some point for daring to break convention.

Good luck getting your car back :)

I remember one night in portrush, cops stopped us in my friends fiesta xr2, one had been reported stolen in coleraine, cops thought we were in it until they stopped us, the big seargeant turned round and says, "guys lets head back to coleraine, the one were after is in better shape than this pos", my mate was gutted as he felt is car was being insulted, didnt help that his had two black primed front wings, the stolen car was in mint condition.

Muler, you will notice that the main offenders have not offered up what they drive, me thinks it is because they are a tad jealous.

Good luck getting your car back, but to be honest if it has been driven how it sounds like it has been done, your not going to want it back really are you?

Doubt it. People arent jealous.

They just like making comments. Its always been the OcUK way for it to be acceptable to make fun of somebody, regardless of their predicament.

Bid sad really, hope you get your car back mate :)

As I said, what do they drive? If its anything worth less than 50% value of the Megane then I think jealousy has probably got a little to do with it.

I seriously doubt that. Id rather my Fiesta than a Megane any day. Hell i could have had 2 for the sum of 20k.

yeah because you need to own a £10,000 car to be able to comment on modified cars dont you ?

Yes its not fair that they poke fun at it being called an R26R when its not, but you dont have to have an expensive car, or be jealous of somebody with one, to do so.

lol

Muler, I all works out okay for you. I can't imagine what it feels like to have a car stolen.

TBH though, I'd be happy for someone to half-inch my CTR after the trouble it's been recently!

You'd do well to ignore 90% of the people on this forum, as many of them just love to stick the boot in for no real reason. Must have been one crappy Xmas for you :(

However, somebody made a (very valid) point that the R26.R stickers could have contributed to it being stolen, so just be aware of that.

Hope you get it back soon! :)
