What do guys wear for Masquerade balls?

As title...i want to actually get a decent costume for once and a mate is having a 'Masquerade Ball'.

I went to one in a hotel before xmas. Everyone wore black tie and a mask. You can get them from fancy dress shops/ the internet.

A swallow-tail suit. A rose at hand. A mask (preferably a mask tha covers just the eyes and nose.)

I also smoke so the small cigar looked good.

Check out Venetian masks, the Harlequin ones are pretty cool (well as far as masks go) or the ones with the comedy noses always get a laugh.

It's GD...so you should wear mustard too, and carry a loaf of Hovis.

Originally, the point was for people to relax in (partial) anonymity and behave in a manner that would be at least mildly scandalous otherwise.

Nowadays, in our society, it's very redundant.
