Geek Pet Hates.

People who confuse RAM with HDD capacity

This has to be my biggest pet hate, only yesterday someone was asking why they couldn't run Football Manager. When I asked how much RAM they had, got the reply " loads, I'll never run out!"

Upon checking, he had 256mb.

People who have a REALLY low sensitivity on their mouse wheel, and then decide to scroll through a 10+ page document, taking nearly a minute.

Also, not emptying the recycle bin. I can has storage? No u can not has storage, because your deleted files haven't actually been freaking deleted yet!

Oh and the double clicking on links. And incorrect resolutions on monitors.

Edit: And when people don't close programs they aren't using. "My computer is running slow" - "how many browsers do you have open?" - "36, why?".

People who send panic stricken emails to everyone in their contact list about some terrible new virus "OMG don't go on the BBC website theres a terrible virus there that actually makes the computer blow up, yes really!"

People who install software willy nilly, like when installing CCleaner you get the option to install the toolbar and such, you untick the option to not install it but people just cruise past these screens just to get the software installed then complain that it contains "adware" and other stuff which installed without their permission.

People who choose a low resolution on an LCD monitor to make things bigger.

This, one of my workmates refuses to believe that they have optimal resolutions, he reckons they are "suggested" resolutions.
Everytime I come back on shift I have to adjust all of the monitors back to their optimal resolution.
He also refuses to accept that his eyesight is next to useless, even though he can only work in 1024x768 on 19" 16:10 monitors.
