Company of heroes

If you feel motivated after watching "Battle of the Bulge" or more recently "The Longest Day" then I would get the urge to relive those days on my laptop. However, the lengthy patches required does put me off, hence COH being the most longest installed game on my laptop EVER in the history of my gaming.

I seem to remember it all auto updating anyway, and at least Relic continue to support their games, unlike a lot of developers.

that being the problem, you're forced to dl the patches from their crappy servers before you can play :p

yea, the patches are horrible when you've got a vinella copy. You have so many GB of downloading ahead of you.

I never played the single player, I just dived into mulitplayer, which is hard but very good once you become good at it. You need to give it time and put the effort in :p

brilliant game, i had a vanilla copy and ould have had to sit through literally days of patching so just rebrought it off steam

VEry good game, i just bought "tales of valor" on steam which compared to the original is a POS for single player. MP might be ok but they said the balance is poor

Relic just turns out the BEST RTSs since home world.

Its really good, i never played TOV but got the original + of and really love it. The realism combined with graphics and great gameplay rock :)

Id say the few gb of patches are worth it. Atleast you get a game that is patched properly and not somecrappy 200mg patch that does nothing :P

They are awesome games. The best bit is the physics and deformable terrain - battlefields really look like battlefields when you're done and this creates new opportunities for attack and cover.

I bought the original COH on release date because i wanted to get into other types of games other than FPS or Racing. I don't play it very much as im rubbish at it (i would never dream of playing it online due to my lack of skill) I have however got pretty far in the single player campaign and have since purchased TOV from the steam sale.

Great game, but I do seem to remember having problems actually running it once I had installed all 3 games.

Its a great game but yeah, if your installing from scratch then prepare to wait while it downloads over a dozen patches.

That is the only reason why I would prefer to get the Steam version but still a great game. The Brits are fun. :)
