Well I have a brand new one from HIS to fit. Blew my last GPU but since I bought this one my mobo has failed and I think taken the RAM with it.

Getting it all tested tomorrow.

After reading this i think i might role back my driver, keep getting crashes with 9.12 :/

Actually BeeP I have noticed a similar problem with mine since the 9.12's. I was getting lots of lag and jerky gameplay in a few games i've tried last night. After troubleshooting for a while I noticed that at anything lower than the desktop resolution it's locking the display at 24hz, hence the games won't do over 24fps. I uninstalled and went back to the 9.11 catalyst and all is well again. Have a look when running your TF2 to see if it's your monitor refresh rate that's the problem.

I have vsync on so it's locked to 60, I have tried turning vsync off etc but still crap fps.

Run Regedit go to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\NoActiveDesktopChanges and if the value is 1 change it to 0.

That should stop any 24HZ issues, including the infamous Crysis 24hz at 1080p bug.

Just becouse i have to buy a new motherboard so i need a cheap and a compatible mb for my hd5770.

This happens ocassionally.. does anyone know of a fix?

your not the only one, mine too likes to jump into 2d and back every now and then, although always when im at the RV.

I though 2 5770s in crossfire beats a single 5870. Might decided to go 5770 trifire next month.

I haven't actually tried it kitch tbh, i've kept the 9.11 driver on for the time being. When 9.13 comes out though I shall be definately giving it a try if I get stuck with 24hz again.

It would apper Catalyst 10.1 is due on the 7th January - not sure how true this rumour is though.................
