My office is freezing cold. Everyone is complaining. 9°C inside and the minimum temperature should be apparently 16°C but I don't see we are going home anytime soon.
I managed to find a small heater now, I took it for my personal use, I don't care now about all the others around me complaining about freezing temperatures as my legs are warm now
I thought it was law in the The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 although it states "reasonable" but since then the acceted temperature is 16C.
It would be very difficult for an employer to discipline somebody who refused to work in colder temps as they would lose.
Of course, the first approach the employee should do is ask their employer to rectify the situation. If that fails you can report them to the HSE for a breach.
