It's snowing

Just a dusting in Chelmsford overnight.

The news last night made out that snow in this country is unusual.. Well it's not like we've never had snow in winter before.

5 y.o. mini-me - "dad, when you go to the shop can you get things for me and mummy to make a snowman, but don't worry about snow we've got plenty"

Utter star :D

but we don't usually have snow anywhere near this thick.

here in north london we've got a good 3 inches or so, which is highly unusual.

Mmm I remember snow this thick.. 91 was was last time i can recall. A few years ago maybe but again it's nothing new. I remember having to abandon my car 800yards from home.. 2 days after taking delivery :D

Really, light dusting? We've got quite a bit in Colchester, not loads, but enough not to be able to move the car up the street. I do live on parallel to North Hill though.

Doesn't really effect me though. I work from home every day.

I've lost faith in BBC Weather AND the Metoffice weather forecasts :(

They used to be my God, but for the 3rd time in 3 days they've predicted "heavy snow" and it has either been blue sky's and sun, or a dusting of snow.

EDIT: ok, 4th time lucky....BBC Weather has predicted "Heavy Snow" to begin at 9am and go on until 9pm tonight....let's see if they're right....

Scotswood road at half 5 this morning. Its a Dual carriage way, 2 lanes in either direction. Luckily, they had ploughed it an hour later. There were 3 foot drifts from the snow ploughs! Seriously, Newcastle is really really bad!

And for completness, the other way.

Epsom/Surrey had quite a bit of snow this morning, probably about 4 inches but nothing as bad as last year.

When I got to London there was hardly any snow in there.

I only have a little bit of snow as well and thats just outside Chelmsford. However, it didnt snow till early this morning. Heavy snow is due around lunch time for Chelmsford. :D

Had about 2-3 inches here in Derby since 5pm last night.. Got to say tho i am pretty impressed with the roads. I live on an estate and that was a bit snowed in but the main roads seem fine and i got to work in the same time as usual this morning...

Had <1 inch in Nottingham so had no trouble getting in via public transport first thing this morning. I'll probably leave a bit early this afternoon as by then it'll be frozen slush so I'd prefer to walk across a couple of bits of my route home in the light instead of the dark. My bosses are both in from Chesterfield without major issues this morning.

My sister lives in Corsham and she had no trouble at all getting to her office on the outside of Bristol this morning.

We have a couple of people who legitimately can't get into the office but a large number of people are just taking it as an excuse to either work from home or skive off.
