I used to breed leopard geckos. They make awesome pets and very easy to look after. They are usually primarily nocturnal but if you have a red light on in the evening you can watch them without disturbing them (they cannot see red light). They also come out a lot during the day anyway just to bask under the heatlamp so you wont have problems with never seeing them. If you need any other help or advice on housing them, feeding them or how to successfully breed them drop me a PM. Id be glad to help.

email details are in trust settings

Used to own a chameleon, leopard and sand fish lizard. All easy tl look after esp the chameleon. Was very friendly for a while too then got agressive if i went near it. Used to love coming out of its cage and walking all over the lounge. Also took it into the garden in summer time. Think thats what spoilt it...Amazing watching it feed.

I have a leopard gecko. It's a funky, cheap, easy to maintain pet.

You can hold them too, at first he didn't like being held, but is getting used to it now.

I sometimes let him wander around on my computer desk at home too.

Will post pics tonight.

I dont use sand for the tank - I use wood chip, it seems better than sand.

Loose substrate shouldn't really be used for Leopard Geckos. They can ingest it too easily and become ill.

I used to use some natural slate tiles which I bought from B&Q that I cut into shape. Worked wonders and it's easy to clean.

thats a good idea but it wouldnt work for me as my gecko seems to spend a lot of time digging and rearranging the substrate. i guess it just depends on the animal.

The sand I used for mine is calcium sand so when they snap to eat the food the sand is fine for them if it goes in their mouth.
