I have always preferred bf games over cod ones for on-line play, just prefer them in every way, i have tried the cods and i just get bored of them after a short while no vehicles just don't cut it for me, its war and in war you use vehicles.

How will it kill mw2?
To kill it would have to be released before, at the same time or very shortly after to steal sales.
MW2 is already well into the black, it is a success end of.
If BF:BC2 is the best game of all time and personally provided a triple breasted hooker to service you while you played it could still not undo MW2's success.
So enlighten us how will it kill an already developed, released and financially successful game?

I may be wrong here, but I would assume he's meaning that the release of BFBC2 will reduce much of MW2's player base.
I agree with him, but tbf though, I think this is more because of the failings of MW2 than the greatness of BFBC2.
They are differant games, differant playing styles on both i think. but yes i think bfbc2 will destroy a large part of mw2's player base though it will be very very populer still. me personally i will play both, mw2 is mindless fun you go on and bash a server single-handed, no emphasis on team work or cooperation
Bf games on the other hand are big on team work or atleast what i remember of them, its a different experience all together for me, i prefer the bf game play and team based play you get and thats the upperhand i think dedi servers will give to non clan based play in bfbc2.

MW2 is designed to have a lifetime of under 1 year killing it off sooner is only a benefit to activision.
They've already been paid, less people playing a few months after buying means less costs to support IW net.
People will just remember the honeymoon period of the game so will lap up MW3.
Remember Activision's CEo is only interested in games that "can be exploited year on year"

As already said there is no way BC2 can 'kill' mw2, its already a success, so IF it is a massive success, which financially it inevitably will be, it wont 'kill' it, whether or not its any good and steals the playerbase is something that nobody can predict at the moment, chances are it will 'steal' some of the playerbase, but I imagine a lot of people are going to play both together.

i could not give a monkeys about sales,for me its about the gameplay and bc2 kills mw2 in all areas of gameplay hands down,like i said in my original post in 2009 its loads better,here is a copy/paste that i posted months ago
Im gonna have to say Im MUCH more excited for BC2 than MW2. MW2 looks like another rehash if you ask me. Dont get me wrong, I think CoD is ok, but BC2 just looks a hell of a lot more impressive graphically and a lot of fun to play at that. I cant wait. And for the record... Ive put twice if not 3 times more time into BF than CoD4s extremely short SP campaign. Not to mention it took no time at all to reach lvl 55 in CoD4 and then it just got boring. Im still achieving new ranks in BF2 to this day, and I enlisted back in 05. And including vehicles in a game is a hell of a lot more interesting than yet ANOTHER INF only game... not to mention destructible environments... all of this MW2 wont have. MW2 is basically CoD4 all over again except with much more weapon customization...wooo! So that being said, MW2 I will be picking up, but Im nowhere near as excited about that as I am BC2. BC2 looks amazing. And as for comparison, CoD4 has objective based modes, so the two are similar in that aspect, but IMO BF2 still did it better. The maps were larger, and the weaponry was by far more realistic. And really, infantry only gets really old. How many games stick to smaller maps and infantry only? A hell of a lot more than BF series. Seriously...vehicles ***. More games need em

people are all the more stupid for buying it then,the last decent cod game online was cod1 which we all played extensively at the time(our clan)but the rest of the cod games games have been borked(cod4 was ok for a blast) and are inferior to bf2 let alone bc2

Do you know that MW2 is out? You seem to talk about it in future tense a lot..
So you're back to stating opinion and personal preference as fact again.. about 2 things you dont even own.
The rank point is not applicable.. its developer preference as to how far apart to set ranks as far as scoring is concerned... The amount of time I had invested in BF2 and I still didnt have all the unlocks I found frustrating, it would have been worse if I didnt have special-forces which meant double the unlocks.
At the end of the day im not one who cares about the rank, Im more interested in playing the game, not having better stats than someone else. I dont have self esteem issues so getting beat isnt such a big deal for me, and I dont have to brag about slaughtering people or need a better icon than everyone else, id rather prove I was better by turning them over.
MW is supposed to be a more confined intense infantry battle game, BF2 isnt, the hint is in its name.. its a 'battlefield' which have vehicles, but not always. Getting bombed off jets or heli-raped gets pretty boring too when you're infantary too tbh.. its not really a good representation of a battlefield.
Look at the maps.. aircraft carriers without a naval task group? Why would there be artillery cannons on a beach island, there should be Naval Vessels supplying a ****-storm down on enemy positions. 1942 had the nail on the head as far as a true battlefield.
Either way they are 2 extremely seperate games, that happen to be objective based first person shooters... like 90% of all other first person shooters.
Ahh, you started that one off a treat, right back at you 'dummy', Iv stated repeatedly that I prefer BF2 to MW1, and im not that bad at BF2, it was never a problem finishing top or second, without taking it so seriously.
I achieved everything I wanted for BF2, I enjoyed playing with friends having a muck around.
If playing for as long as you have I think I would much prefer to not have all my unlocks, I have a social life, a career etc, I imagine after over 2500hours I would have gotten very bored of BF2, since it doesnt really set my world alight now.
My dreams are generally something a little bigger and what not than wishing I had good stats on a game I had invested nearly a third of a year solid on.
Maybe im ambitious or wierd or something, maybes its materialism, but my bf2s.com profile doesnt really define my life, should it?

your threads are being deleted because of the name calling probably. Im fairly sure the main reason I didnt get every unlock is because I didnt invest enough time into the game. You realise its like saying im crap at a game like warcraft because I got bored and stopped playing by level 40 or something, where generally you WILL reach the highest level if you keep playing, you dont actually have to be that good at it. A general rule with game stats are that time spent playing = higher level, obviously its faster if you are good, but not THAT much faster.
And really, I prefer BF2, but I barely play that either, as neither are brilliant games, nothing seems to have that x-factor that I want. I dont even have MW1/2 installed.
