Right well myself, my partner and out 14month old daughter live in a small block of flats (12 flats)

And just before christmas a young girl (probably 19/20) moved in next door. On the 27th of december there was music banging on all day (Was that loud we could hear it word for word over our TV and general sounds of our daughter playing. By around 11pm (Had been going on for around 6/7 hours it got too much and i went round to tell her enough is enough, she said sorry and that is was her birthday and she would turn it down, the flat stunk of weed as soon as she opend the door, now i was annoyed due to us having a young kid and having the hall stinking of the stuff, but to be honest i was happy to have the music stop.

The next day was the same thing, music going, her mates up and down the stairs shouting on there mobiles (Why do people shout when talking on phones, grrr) and it seemd to never end, so we complained to the people we rent from and also spoke to the people above and below her, they had also complained so we hoped that would be the end of it. Got a phone call of the woman that was dealing with the complaint and was told she has been warned and is going to have a formal meeting, awsome we thought, intill yesterday.

Music going on in the day, altho it was not too bad (Not that we should have to put up with it, but we did) then 10pm came and i went to bed to be up at 5am for work. 11pm we woke up to the baby crying, she had been woken up by the music and people shouting, laffing etc. on the stairs. So we opend the front door and shouted keep the f'in noise down you just woke up our baby, and they just laffed it off, i wasnt going to mess as there was 5 of them, i can look after myself but i aint stupid. But to my suprise they walked off back into the flat.

2am we was woken up by the baby crying again and there they are again on the landing, with the big window open smoking and being loud. So not only was the noise a problem but now we had a freezing cold landing with a draft comming into our flat. Being close to loosing it they got shouted at yet again and i went back to bed, misses got the baby back to sleep and there they go at it again! Enough is enough now so we phone noise control only to be told they finish at 2am and the call had been logged!!!! Finish at 2am, do they thing people are not going to be partying at that time? So screw it we called the police only to be told sorry they dont deal with noisy neighbors (thanks a lot mr police man)

3am they are still going strong and i carnt sleep, misses carnt sleep and the baby is wide awake playing in her cott and she wont go to sleep with the noise to we leave her to it and shout at the chavs again (misses is about ready to go all kung fu on the girl right now lol)

4:30am and we are still all awake and we here sounds of people walk down the stairs, look our the peep hole and they are leaving and hear one of them shout back up "Well be back round tomorrow night"

No point me going back to bed because my alarm is gonna go off in 30mins so we stayed up. But what else can we do? Seems nobody will do anything?

Then when i was scraping the car to go to work the bloke from above them shouted down to me asking what time i finished and said he would be round after so im guessing he wants to talk about the noise.

Does anyone have any advice? Why do the police refuse to do anything? Surly is anti-social behavior? Noice control is no good after 2am and the lady at the council we all complained to and everyone else are closed at the weekends. Im dreading us all getting anouther sleepless nights because of these twits

You should have told the police they were using illegal drugs , they would have soon been around there.

We did. She said how do you know i said i can smell it and can see them smoking it. And she said there is nothing they can do. It's a joke

i would try the police with partying and a strong smell of 'drugs' they will act on that and if they smell it will disperse, when you hear the police turn up, collar then before they knock on the door and give them the young baby story, hopefully you will get a copper with kids him/herself and he may force the issue a little more... that's my 2p's worth

Sounds awful mate and sucks the police can't do anything about it.

We used to have a set of really noisy neighbours that lived next door to us, thankfully they moved. It's so awesome not having any banging music and arguments anymore!

Wax your hair up into a mess, get some fake blood and cover your head and hands in it, grab a baseball bat and run out like a crazed loon.

Might work?

Or go with the above.

They didn't even seem botherd when we told them about the drugs. It was like they where thinking oh well it's just canabis.

What annoys me is if i went out and smacked one of them the police would be straight around with only me having to anserw for myself

 Nothing they can do about illegal drugs:eek:
Sounds like a utterly incompetent police force.

just say to the police you thought you saw one of them with a gun....

then count to 10....

Amazing how responsive they can be when they *want* to be.

Try talking to her again during the day and ask her to be more considerate as it is making you miserable. If you are renting, kick up a stink with the landlord.

If she's a chav, this wont work. They honestly don't care about how you feel.

I agree though, take it up with the landlord, can't you and the other residents get something in writing?

I'm sure if you get all of your neighbours to phone the police around similar times to report drug use and noise, surely they'll act? Your local police force sound like mugs.

Keep us updated, must be hell living with that.

Move.

Sure, people will flame me for that but seriously, its not as if she's going to change into an Oxbridge graduate overnight is it? You are ALWAYS going to have issues.

Tempted to try the drug dealings if they are round again tonight.

Nitefly, the bloke from above her flat has been around in the day and spoken to her, and it's the same old story of "sorry" but it still dont stop her.

Not brave enough to try the gun thing lol, im a crap lier at the best of times :p the drug dealing thing tho atleast i know they are doing drugs.

If all else fails im just going to wait till they are on the landing again and hose them down with nice cold water from the jet washer

It's always a difficulty when you have anti-social neighbours but police have absolutely no powers to deal with excess noise whatsoever.

Such complaints need to be taken up with the local authority as they have the equipment to measure noise and also the remit to deal with it.

Nuneaton Council. Ask for the anti-social dept or who ever deals with noisy neighbours. 024 7637 6376.

Keep a diary. Make a note of dates, times, excess noise, parties etc.

As for the mention of cannabis use, ring your local nick and find out who the local beat officer is. You could always arrange a meeting with him / her to discuss your problem.
