Sapphire 5970 - Delivered

this had happend to my 5870 when it arrived. card is fine and i think it's either come lose or to add dirt 2 voucher to the box.

my dirt 2 voucher was sat on top of everything else when i opened it.

no issues at all here
 
I've had a few deliveries off ocuk, no where near as many as a lot of people here and none since last autumn whilst I'm waiting for an issue to be resolved.

Fwiw though everything has been well packed, GPU are usually very well packed in there own case. outer carton is to prevent shipping damage to the nice shiny box usually although there shouldn't really be room for items to move around in the outer box. If it was me i'd report it via email just to inform so if when you install it and there's an issue there's no argument from the retailer.
 
Some people have reported this before, did yours have the dirt 2 voucher inside the box? Enjoy it anyway, Rory. :D
 
Id open it and have a good look at it tbh, as you have 7 days to try it out, and as said above, it may have been opened to pop the Dirt2 voucher in, as some cards didn't ship with them, so these guys started popping them in, or the sticker just came unstuck, which amazingly they can do :p
 
iv had 2 screens seperately delivered from ocuk and my i7 mobo ram etc all came very well packaged and very fast. my experience with them so far has been great. just ordered one of these sapphire 5970's and i hope that comes well packaged too!
 
*Update*

I opened it. Everything that was meant to be there was.

Installed it. No issues currently running it now. Haven't tried games yet, need to install the hotfix first.

Looks like it was just a cold weather + sticker combo that weren't mean to meet.

Thanks for the help guys. And i would like to say, i have ordered lots from OCUK before and they have never let me down. I wont be changing suppler just because of this. I like OCUK and their service.

Just to clarify for the op, i have bought loads of Sapphire cards in the past and almost every one of them the sticker was like this... and i got them from different places also.

I think its just crap stickers tbh and nothing to worry about.

i think you guys worry to much these things ship for thousands of miles and end up in our hands ok and your worried about it rattling around a few short transit journeys.
think of it this way
Parts get shipped from all over the world to the factory.
card gets made.
card gets checked
gets packages with bits and bobs
goes on vans/trucks
ends up on a boat or plane after being handled many time by machine and man
ends up here on the docks or airport.
goes through all the same slack again
ends up in a shop
shop packs it up
gets collected
goes to a sorting centre
gets sent to a local sorting centre
gets man handled into the van by the staff
then the door bell rings

IF YOU ALL THOUGHT HOW COMPLEX THIS PROCESS IS YOU'D PROBABLY NEVER BUY ANYTHING AGAIN BUT WE DO/ IT'S THE RISK WE TAKE WITH EVERY PURCHASE
So the card not being packaged that well would not put me off the retailer.

i agree a full system should be packed very well, but when something is wrapped up well anyway a box in a box in a anti static bubble bag and foam there is no need to worry or think that it don't work due to shoddy packaging

all my orders for the last 5 years is OCUKed. no problem at all!

maybe one think I didn't like: latest move to DPD service pushed delivery time to me post code (N.W London) from 10am to 4:15pm....

Nonsense! I live in Canada, and trust me, cold weather will not do that to a seal on a box like that. You would have to take off your thick, insulated gloves or mittens, then make sure you have long fingernails, then proceed to peck and chip at the sticker with your fingernails to open it.

What an I getting at? Return it, because there might even be something missing that you would not know about from the box!

lol, like what? A few crappy cables? As long as the card and everything you need are in the box, why bother?
 
I made sure everything was there. which it was. The 2 free games were there, protective seal over the serial keys were there and secure.
No finger prints on the card itself, so i concluded it was a freak of nature :D
