My wife's car (2007 Vauxhall Corsa) is due to be out of warranty in May this year and she has got an ongoing problem where the windscreen is literally icing up on the inside and I want to get it sorted once and for all before May!

It went in for a similar problem last winter along with the heater not kicking in and the dealer said they had sorted it but its not been cold enough until the last month or so for us to check! And it would now appear that its not been sorted!

Has anyone got any experience of this problem and anyone know where we would stand if its not rectified before the warranty runs out???

Thanks....

Go to the dealership and ask for it to be sorted out. Explain to them you've been there numerous times to sort all sorts of problems out. Be nice about it, and I'm sure they'll fix it.

The heater basically wasnt getting warm! Anyway, that problem got sorted last winter and we assumed it would fix the icing up on the inside problem - obviously it didnt!

I'll persevere with the dealership i guess!!

Sounds like it's wet in the car. Are there any leaks or is the carpet wet? Check all over.

Take the heater of re-circulate, drive it for a few miles and use the air con (I assume it will have it).

This will make sure the car is properly warm and any moisure should be expelled from the car. If it's still bad after this, were must be a leak and therefore damp carpet somewhere in the car.

i dont understand the bit about not being able the check that the heater not kicking in until now
u can see if thats working even on the hottest days of the year you dont need a cold day to check that

Have you got a lot of snow in the car? Mine had this problem after our first bout of snow before Christmas, I was then a lot more careful with getting snow in the car and it's been fine ever since (after it gradually got better as it dried out).

If you read my post I stated that the heater not kicking in was fixed - it just hasnt been cold enough to ice up until now to check to see if the icing up was fixed!

Thanks for all the replies guys - I think I'll just have to stick with the dealer to see if they can sort it!

Do this, there is moisture in the car before you're getting in so it is wet somewhere, just need to try and flush it out if you don't think there's any wet patches on the seats/carpets

for it to ice up on the inside , there is water somewere in the car
in my car its the passanger footwell
but check everywhere, even the boot if the spare is in a well as that can get water in there from a leak somewhere like the rear light blocks.
also as said make sure the heater isnt set to re-circulate air
