"Feel good" films

I base them on whether they make me feel all positive at the end and everything will turn out ok. Probably a few eyebrow raising ones I'm sure.

Anything with Adam Sandler except for Going Overboard, Zohan. I'm undecided about Funny People.

Including romantic ones with happy endings:

Love actually, Crash, Amelie, 50 first dates, LA story, 7 Pounds (oddly), A lot like love, The Notebook, Paris, Je T'aime, Cruel Intentions, Forrest Gump, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Juno, Knocked Up, American Pie trilogy, Coach Carter, Independence Day, The Pursuit of Happiness.

Feel da rythem! Feel da rhyme! Get on up, its bobsled time! COOL RUNNINGS!

That film never fails to bring a smile to my face, although it is sad to think it was John Candy's last (good) film role...

I always find The Incredibles is a bit of a warm blanket film as well.

That was a very depressing and harrowing film! No way could that be described as feel good.

I can understand why you think that. But I find it extremely heartwarming and optimistic, from my perspective it reminds me that you must cherish the experiences in life, take the good with the bad and move on the best you can, I think the ending is wonderful and most people who have been in a relationship that has ended for one reason or another would connect with it to an extent.

I found it traumatising watching all of the good things in one man's life being swept away. It was like being dumped over and over again - my girlfriend of the time felt the same. I understand where you were coming from, but it was a very harrowing demonstration of putting those messages across.

*spoiler*

Furthermore, whilst you may have found the ending positive, they never explicitly established that they got back together.

Forest Gump
Spirited Away/Howls moving castle (anything by Studio Ghibli really)

a lot of Anime mainly ghibli work.

also sadly enough Independence Day makes me feel good, for some funny reason, the hacking scene makes me burst out laughing everytime.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

I just watched this and wanted to create a thread on how much I enjoyed this film, luckily I did a search before, and a discussion to boot lol. It made me and the missus feel good. Least it's not a cookie cutter film.

However saying that, last night I watched 17 again. It's very cookie cutter but I enjoyed it immensely

Maybe I'm just weird :(

You may laugh, but when I want a feel good light hearted film, I watch family films!

Don't get me wrong, I've watched 100s of films just this year, and can really appreciate a lot of them. However family films are quite underrated.

Cars, Wall-E etc :p
