Looking at purchasing a megahalems and would like to know which fans provide the best cooling between the Akasa Apache/Sythe Gentle Typhoon/Noctua Noctua NF-P14 FLX

Temperature examples would be nice if anyone has any.

I had a sythe gentle typhoon, it was quiet and worked well, the bearings went after three months though,

I bought a Nocta nf-p12 today, it's quiet and cools quite well compaired to the sythe, although that may be as the sythe one i had had a max rpm of 880, you can get a sythe one which as a max of 1850 -

I use 2x yate loon fans on mine. However they are a bit loud so i needed a small fan controller. Idle temps 25-30c, 55-60 max on q6600 go At 3.4ghz

I wouldn't limit yourself just to those fans...

I'm using 2 Enermax Clusters and I get <40deg idle at 4GHz. Very quiet too running at 60%

just chose those 3 as ive heard good reports about the akasa and the sythe but noticed the noctua moved slightly more air

i7 DO @ 4.2GHZ/ Mobo-Evga sli le/ G-skill titanium 1600mhz/ Sapphire 5850@1000/1200/ Megahelems in push-pull/ Case-Haf 932 Modded/ Coolermaster 700W. 24"Samsung T240

Q9650 @ 4.05. Megahelms running push/pull Apache via PWM splitter in an Haf 932 case here.

Idle = 27c Fans @701rpm
Load (IBT)= 52c@(max)1205 rpm (IBT Freeze Test 5x's)

Have not tried any of the other fans you listed so cannot comment better or worse. Would certainly have no hesitation in rec. the Apache fans which I found a little better than either 2xHiper fans or 2xNoctua NF-P12 fans (not much in it though!!)

I use 2xapache fans, that seem ok. temps aren't really relevant as it depends on ambient / temp reading software etc.

Only thing I don't like about the Megahalems is the mounting system hasn't been brilliant for me. When I screwed it down it took a fair bit to get it stationary as there was a little play in the 2 mounting pins used between the cooler and the mounting plate. When I went to remove the cooler to reseat it, I found out the two 2 screws were now slightly bent and wouldn't come out  Only way to get the damn thing off was to unscrew the 4 outer mounting screws :p

Got 2 enermax magmas on mine running full pelt still quiet had has my 920 DO @ 4ghz idle at 38c well happy.

I am using a single Silverstone SST-FM121B fan which comes with a controller for about £10. Spins to 2300rpm, max cfm I believe is 110.
Fairly noisy but ok if kept below 1100rpm. I am using another as an intake fan.
My idle temp at 43%o/c on a q8200 cpu was 21 degrees (51 degrees core temp)
At full load with prime95 I was getting 71 degrees core temp with the fans on full.

Hope this helps
