DIY Astronomer captures amazing images of the Sun!

This gets a Big Holy ******** **** Batman from me. Epic pics of My Planet.

Cool pics, I remember making a massive pinhole camera using the cardboard tube from a roll of carpet for a uni project to look for sun spots. Nothing like these imagines though!

Very impressive.

Very cool! I'd be scared to look in the telescope aimed at the sun for the first time... Incase something went wrong and I end up loosing an eye!

Awesome.

If we could just master that fusion energy production from Hyrogen to Helium on a smaller scale, we would have clean power for evermore.

On a trivia note, our nearest star is 4.3 light years from the Sun. Scaled down that means if our Sun was the size of a grain of sand and our nearest star Proxima Centauri were the same size, they would be 5 miles apart.

Universe is big, yo.

Certainly is... According to The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

"Space," it says, "is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly hugely mindbogglingly big it is. I mean you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist, but that's just peanuts to space, LISTEN!" and so on...

I don't know why, but looking at those type of images really makes me want to be fired from a cannon and propelled right into the surface of the Sun, screaming with glory.

What a way to go.

You'd probably be ash before you even got anywhere near it :p The sheer power of the sun is uncomprehendible!
