Random thread of the day!
At work today I went to answer my phone and drew a blank on how I should be answering it.
Anyone phoning me knows they're phoning me. They probably double clicked my name from the application, but even if they've typed in my extension number it will have come up on they're phone with my name.
I know who's ringing when I chose to answer.
Despite this, some people insist on going "Hi Ed it's Bob" when I pickup - I ****ing know it's Bob. It came up with your name on my phone and popped up on my PC screen, in the way of me trying to get on with my job, with your name, extension, and the option of answering or putting through to voicemail.
Also some people when picking up their phone go "Hi Ed Jobsworth speaking". I ****ing know who I rang, when I double clicked on your name in the application it then came up with your name on my phone and is still showing your name on my phone.
So yeah, what do you do and how should I be answering it when they know my name and I know their name?
