Lol that is pretty fail :p

On the subject of mics, what would be a decent cheap one to get for online gaming?

Got a Plantronics desktop mic a while ago but its really quiet in games and sounds rubbish. Think that was about £10 as well.

£10< gets you a Labtec desktop "dome" mic - I use it for Vent and L4D and it's great, sound quality is good too.

Perfectly usable for voice comms even when you're laid back at your desk and the mic sitting at the back, heck I can even talk on vent standing in the corner of the room and people can hear me clearly

errr...mrk?

Have you ever wondered why we don't seem to answer complicated questions from you? It's because we all just say "yeh, yeh" to whatever to say. We don't really listen to you. We don't hear... :p

Hmm?

Maybe it's just you then since everyone else seems to hear just fine ingame/in vent! Well the usual people I speak to daily anyway, Ciphon, Knubje, Hungry Hippos, Midnight, Invisible etc

Oh man the above 3 posts just stabbed me in the funny bone :p

I used to have a good £10+ Plantronics mic until...

Well it broke because of me, not itself.

Currently using a cheapo fiver Logitech one. Ask the others what it's like.

headsets are a waste of money tbh.

Substandard headphones with a mic strapped to the side.

Get a nice pair of senns or other decent headphones and cheap desk mic, much better sound quality.

if you really want to you can easily attach the desk mic to the headset but as it's more sensitive you'll have to turn the output down.

Using a logitech usb mic myself. Only paid a fiver off ebay for it http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SP-016-LG

It's nice to be able to use voice comms without wearing a headset all the time.

This, I have a sennheiser HD 485 and the above mic. people seem to be able to hear me fine when I'm leaning all the way back + sound quality is great on the headphones.

Clearly I have the best Irish accent out of the lot of yous :p
With Sharpy gone, we only have to get rid of you and Repta and we're free from you all! :D

lies, midnight has the best accents
Good lord, Tefal, you don't listen to many accents do you :D
I think Midnight is still offering £50 to anyone who can do yours :D

I have a cheapo 5 quid piece of crap and it works fine.

Oh, and Mrk, you are kinda quiet for me too - but the reason I don't answer long questions is because by the time someone finishes their question, I've forgotten the start of it.
