I don't know much about the science of this, but to say that it is only skin colour which is the major difference between races simply isn't true. If you changed the pigmentation of a white man to black, and vice versa does anybody really think they would look totally normal? Hair, eyes (colour and shape etc.), bone structure and countless other differences are easily noticable other than colour.
Personally I couldn't give a monkey's provervials what race people are, but I have now joined the crowd that thinks there are too many immigrants in this country. We've always had lots of immigration in the past, but the only times it has been this high (proportionately to the rest of the population) has been when these lands were conquered (Roman, Angles/Saxons, Normans etc.). Naturally, when change, even when peaceful, happens so rapidly not everyone likes it.
I would possibly support a reasonable nationalist party (no chance for the BNP then) but my main political concerns lie with environmentalism so the Greens get my vote. Having said that, I find it very hard to envisage a non Labour/Tory government anytime remotely soon. It would have to take something to really rattle up the country, and obviously nobody wants that.
With regards to Islam4UK, I don't have an issue with them. I totally disagree with what they stand for but I am a real believer in free speech. And I can empathise with their cause. For me it's quite hard to imagine being so staunchly religious, but these people appear to be so. Many write them off as just people wishing to incite hate, but I don't believe that. I reckon they speak the truth when they voice their opinions about the aggression from the West against the Muslim world, as they see it. It's also one of the reasons I'm not a fan of so-called multiculturalism...
In theory, it sound like a really nice idea. People from all across the world coming to the West to form a huge melting pot of just about every culture of the globe. I believe the problem is that not all cultures are compatible. If people fully integrate, then it doesn't matter where you come from. I feel that troubles can arise when people arrive in vast numbers and do very little in the way of integrating. This is more a problem with some cultures than others, depending on who is migrating to where. A lot of Canadians moving to America probably wouldn't change things much, but a few million Brits moving to Saudi Arabia might cause a few issues.
Anyways, I used to be very patriotic but I'm finding it hard to even like this country anymore. It's certainly not all down to immigration, but I do believe it is one of many issues contributing to the cause. Perhaps ironically, I wish to emigrate someday. But I won't be a hypocrite and fail to integrate accordingly.
