Have a new logitech mx revolution but it has a massive delay on it making it unusable. I've since found out this is a known fault and will be sending back. I think I'll sell the replacement and therefore need recommendations for a top quality mouse. I rarely game so its for general pc work and surfing the net.
Cheers

If you don't mind wired, the MX518 offers excellent value. People will inevitibly recommend Razer mice, but make sure you try one first, as I find them massively uncomfortable, whereas I find logitech fit my hand perfectly.

i love my razer deathadder so i would recommend that, but the mx518 is £15 cheaper and a nice mouse also.

but the best mouse i have ever used was this -

its a shame they dont make them anymore as i'd have another one in a minute :(

I use the MX-518 as well, don't really care about the wire as it doesn't get in the way.

Why would you need a really good mouse for using a web browser, unneeded if you ask me!

Because once you've gotten used to a decent mouse, its impossible to go back to a basic one. I had so much trouble going from my Razer diamondback (first version) at home, to a terrible HP basic optical mouse that i bought myself a diamondback 3G for home, and use my old diamondback at work.

Its just the smoothness of the pads (yes, i know you can get other pads) and the accuracy of the sensor that makes a gaming mouse the best kind for everything. The speed of the cursor, speed of response and general feel just makes a decent gaming mouse the only kind that makes sense.

I know you can just turn up the cursor speed in windows, but thats not good enough. Some people want to adjust the sensitivity really easily for different applications. Some people want to be able to turn off cursor acceleration, and others just want a mouse that feels good. Gaming mice give all these.

I recommend my Diamondback 3G. Admittedly its kind of uncomfortable trying to use a couple of the side buttons, but since the whole thing has 7 buttons, you're not going to miss out on using 2 of them.

There is no way I would spend money on a gaming mouse If I didn't game, I obviously wouldn't go ball mouse or extremely cheap, Im using one of http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-014-ST&groupid=702&catid=23&subcat= those, best mouse I've ever used, there is not one problem or annoyance about it, yet If I stopped gaming tomorrow and it happened to brake no way I'd buy another one.

@OP go for MX518 will suit your need and is cheap.
