How often do you wash your jeans?

I'm staying at my girlfriends house, and i've put my jeans in the wash.

She then asks me why?

I've always tended to wash my jeans after i've worn them for a week, but she says that they should be washed around once or month or less, that they are like coats, you should wash them every once in a while.

This concept is new to me, have i been doing it wrong, or is she in the wrong?

Being a student, i tend to wash them when I remember too Normally a week or 2 depending on how dirty they've gotten.

Like most clothes I was them when they start to smell or look dirty..

At my cousins house they literally wash things after one wear which I find a little insane

..Oh pants and socks are an exception to the 'look or smell dirty rule' clean set each day for those

Wear them like 3 times a week, probs go a month unless I get a stain.

It goes like this with me:

Vest tops usually one wear
Jeans 3 wears
Skirts 3 wears
Tops over tops 2 wears
Dresses 1 wear
bras 2 wears
pants/socks/tights 1 wear

Tops/Underwear = Washed after worn once
Jumpers = don't have them on for long, so when dirt (every week or two)
Jeans = every other week or so, only wear them in evening and weekends as in Trousers during the day
Trousers = after 2/3 wears!

maybe every 2-4 weeks, depends how much i wear that pair? dont like washing them too often, they go all crispy and hard.

I think it is a case of either between the time periods of once a fortnight to once a month.

Or if something visibly is wrong with them. Such as got muddy or spilt something on them.

I wear them as much as possible between washes (until they smell really) as they came with a label saying to do that. Usually I'll wash each pair maybe once a month (and I'll have worn them maybe half a dozen times at most during that period) Makes sense to me with jeans...

They get washed when they get dirty. Which in this weather is weekly, but usually monthly+.

I don't think I could manage longer. I get twitchy if I don't have a shower/bath that day. The clothes may not smell but in my head they are dirty and other people will know they are dirty :O

After a couple of days they start to smell. Four weeks of use would be horrific.

That is akin to being a tramp.

About every 4 weeks or so. Most other stuff I wash after one or two wears, but jeans are fine.
