We are all connected inter planetary wise!

Didn't all the ancients point to 2200 or something? It was said the 2012 thing was nothing more than a miscalculation by modern historians/archeologists etc.

The US Geological Survey would disagree with you and would actually say that the number of large magnitude quakes have fallen recently but don't give this fall any statistical merit.

Feel free to dismiss them as pawns of the NWO hiding the truth.

Hmm. According to Wiki there has been as many earthquakes over 6 since 2000 already compared to the whole of the last century. I know usgs only count earhquakes over 7 in saying the numbers have decreased but that link is dated 2001 and is looking at the last 30 years of the last century.

I wonder what their take would be now since in 10 years we have had a "normal" century's worth of major earthquakes?

remember the Egyptians knew about start systems back then we need telescopes to see.

there is more to ancient civ's than we give them credit for

The link was last updated in Oct 2009 and contains a link at the bottom to the last 20 years worth of earthquakes. Link below for graphs for the last 30 years:

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/eqarchives/year/graphs.php

mag 8-9.9 1980-2000 = 10
mag 8-9.9 2000-2009 = 13

mag 7-7.9 1980-2000 = 232
mag 7-7.9 2000-2009 = 131

mag 6-6.9 1980 -2000 = 2319

mag 6-6.9 2000-2009 = 1324

1980-2000 total = 2561

2000-2009 total = 1468

more than 50% quakes in last 9 years compared to 1980-2000 so yes has been more quakes as of late thanks for the numbers. And a lot more 8-9.9 quakes.

1980-2000 average 128.05 quakes a year
2000-2009 average 163.11 quakes a year.

Hmmmm. Talk about making it confusing and there are so many holes in those figures/graphs I laughed.

1. They state on the previous page the average number of major (7 to 7.9) earthquakes between 1990 and today is 17. The actual average of the individually years for that period is 13.9.

2. They state the average of severe ones (over 8) for 1990 to today is 1 and it is indeed 0.95. However, the last 10 years is 1.3 and the previous 10 is 0.6. That is a 100% increase (although may not be statistically significant)

They don't show charts for the previous century and I admit wiki may well be wrong when they list about 160 major earthquakes in the last century or only about 1.6 per year but they state their list is from usgs. Wiki's list does seem to match usgs for this century so far.

To be honest, my verdict is out until somebody shows me the proper charts from the last century.

It stands to reason that if people say the World will end from now until the Earth is engulfed by the inevitable demise of the Sun then at some point they'll be right (I doubt I'll be around to see it though - having no intention of living for the next ~4 billion years). It should also go without saying that they'll be disappointed for a large proportion of that time but one of the nicest things about people who predict the end of the World so regularly is their hope is indefatigable and after every disappointment they just bounce back with a new date as if they haven't just bet the house (sometimes literally) on the previous date.

They'll only ever be right once though ;)

Occording to Wiki, Britain get's 200-300 quakes per year and only 10% are felt by the public, a part of me fails to believe that tbh. I also don't understand how we can interpret what the Mayan symbols represent, which also leads me to believe they make **** up to profit from it.

Is there anything else to read about other planets having an effect on Earth like making earthquakes/volcanos erupt etc?

Sounds like an interesting subject to read about.

I mean we know the moon effects our tides/women :p, is it plausible planets could also effect quakes etc?

If you believe in Nibiru/Planet X (), yeah, but apparently it stays behind the sun 24/7, 365 days per year...

No they ****** well haven't. You can't predict solar flares hours in advance, let alone years.

But you can predict solar activity. They've known for a long time about the sun going through 11 year warming and cooling phases (22 year cycle overall). You could probably expect more flares when it's at its peak of a warming phase. I have no idea where it's currently at though, or where it will be in 2012.

P.S. you might want to edit out the sweary in your post... tis a family forum remember.
