Galaxy chocolate is so much better than Cadbury, even Tesco Value chocolate is.

I went to Australia and the cadburies chocolate is miles different over there! I prefered coles own brand chocolate - suprisingly good! And yeah, whats up with all the wierd flavours?

OH one thing i was jelous of though was all the different kinds of freddos you have over there! we need more freddo varieties!

They will no doubt fiddle with the recipe and then thats it, bye bye Cadbury. A bad bad day for British industry

Cadbury employs almost a thousand people in this country. These jobs are almost certain to be lost if Kraft take it over.

It also comes at a time when the UK desperately needs to increase its manufacturing output and exports.

If the government had any clue whatsoever, they would block this sale.

Would they actually be able to do so, though?

I'm not really sure what to make of this... It would have been nice if the take over happened when we were having a lovely boom, I suppose.

Did the recipe for Terry's chocolate orange change when Kraft took over? I certainly didn't notice if it did.

I expect that most managerial jobs (HR, Marketing, Operations etc) will be shipped the US ASAP, followed by UK factory closures in a couple of years once press attention is diverted elsewhere - just like Kraft did to Terry's.

I'm sure they've done it in the past. Usually some "anti-competition" or "anti-trust" law is used.

Hell, since it's Labour, they can always just not bother looking for the appropriate law and use their default "anti-terror" law

We should protect our companies just like other countries do like France and the US against foreign ownership.

I'm guessing a lot of tax in the UK coffers will disappear now especially if you look at that list of 50 companies.

It amazes me that most of major power,water and waste companies are French owned nowadays. They are slowly taking over peice by peice and one day they switch is off. I'm telling you here first!

Shame to see them bought out, but the chocolate they make is very, very average at best. I truly don't understand how people can think they are one of the 'better' chocolate companies

My guess is packaging and advertising, but whatever
