What do you think about love?

UB40- I love it when you smile

I love it when you smile
When you're with me honey
It happens all the while
How it kills me when you cry
And you know my heart
That's no word of a lie

Everyday you show me something new about you
Honestly I could never live without you
Look at me here's a soul who'll never doubt you
And I will be forever by your side

(Chorus)

Probably the greatest feeling I have ever known
Actually is when you wrap yourself around me
Promise me you'll stay now that I've found you
And I will be forever by your side

(Chorus)

And you could say you've heard it all before
And I know that anyday you may walk out the door
When I say no one will love you more believe me
And I will be forever by your side

(Chorus)

Beautiful

I reckon ducks fall in love. You see they pick a partner for life and exhibit signs of mourning if that partner is taken away / dies.

I think humans believeing they have the monopoly on love is a bit arrogant ..

They also sometimes engage in homosexual necrophilia and rape (although obviously not at the same time, if you're dead there is no chance to refuse consent) so I wouldn't hold them up as a paradigm of desirable behaviour. ;) But if you're suggesting they're not that dissimilar to humans on that basis then I'd struggle to disagree.

What can I say? Clearly, ducks know how to have a good time.

Homosexual necrophilia: now there's a glass half-full perspective if I ever saw it. :D

This is how I would treat the person I love: what would make me happy is if she was happy. It's all about her, whatever she wants to do, just as long as it makes her happy, then i'd be happy.

Or am I coming from the wrong angle?

You mean rumpy-pumpy?

It's super!

Bobbb?

Love is just a word generated by the social conditioning we are all subjected to from birth. Thou shalt consume, thou shalt get married, thou shalt pay taxes and thou shalt make more consumers to provide the constant growth capitalism depends on.

Have fun lovin' each other.

You would think that, wouldn't you (I have the same perspective)? But some women don't seem to like it.

Very much the wrong angle.

Love is a two-way street, and modern society (especially the media) have convinced men that we need to bend over backwards to keep women happy or they will go find a man that does.

Newsflash, it doesn't work that way!

It's about compromise, but also about doing the things that you want and enjoy within that.

Obviously you don't do everything you want and ignore your partner's feelings/wishes/desires, but at the same time you can't be a doormat, as they will soon get bored and dump your ass regardless.

Everyone's interpretation of love is different. I can't really define my version, but I know it's exists in my life - whether in or out of relationship.

I only do one night stands and the occasional prostitute

If i spend 2 days with someone they begin to annoy me regardless of what they do, the only exception is being drunk, and if your going to be drunk for two days you need lots of powder

But I don't think they're mutually exclusive. I do think it's possible to not compromise on what you like and enjoy, yet be happiest when you see someone you love happy.
