Seasonal or Swine Flu?

IMO there's no reason not to get the seasonal flu jab, I have it done every year after catching the flu one year - not an experience I'd care to repeat. There's probably less reasons to get the swine flu jab, I had mine this year though.

nay, I get them offered for free by my employer but unless you are pregnant, or very old you shouldnt need it..

more than likely it will make you feel lousy

I've never had one, i couldn't be asked to go to my oppointment. I'm also the sort that prefers and believes that stocking up on vitamins and minerals and eating healthy is better for combating illnesses than a jab.

As I sit in a "High Risk" category I get offered the jabs quite early.
I've had both my seasonal & swine flu jabs.

Neither of them caused me any ill-effects, the swine flu jab did give me a slight bruise for a day or two for some reason.

Rather be protected then get any form of flu personally.

I have it done every year because im a carer...not had flu...mind you, i never had flu before i started having the jab either...most people who think they have flu don't have proper flu.

I have seasonal flu jabs each year and had my Swine Flu jab on Monday and I haven't had any ill effects afterwars, apart from a slightly sore arm for a day.

The Swine Flu leaflet does say you can feel a bit feverish for a day or so, but definitely significantally better than you would feel if you got Swine Flu!

I wouldn't bother personally, leave the flu jab for someone a bit more needy. Aint bothered with swine flu jab, I went round to a mate house when him and his family were infected and chilled there for a while, didn't get infected, doubt I will.

Like to believe my immune systems strong enough already, god knows I give it a work out.

Like to believe my immune systems strong enough already....

Read up on Cytokine storms and Spanish flu ;)

Most people shouldn't feel ill after a flu jab as it only contains dead virus (unless in the rare case you have the nasal immunisation method which is indeed live virus), sometimes however in very rare circumstances people do have minor 'flu like' after effects.

To those who say no: Do you like having flu?

I get the flu jab every year because as a Chronic Asthmatic I do not want the flu and so far the mind control drugs in the jac aren't working.

Seriously getting a free flu jab is a no brainer...

For some reason I was eligible to a swine flu jab because of my medication (it compromises my immune system), but I'm not able to get a seasonal flu jab. Confused me, and they couldn't give me a definitive answer as to why I couldn't have the seasonal one. Conspiracy theorists - put your tin foil hats on!
