Nah, he's probably not on because he's more a sketch/character performer.

I admit that doesn't explain the inclusion of Freddy Starr, Harry Enfield or John Thomson [who I'm guessing is in the list solely because of his excellent "Bernard Righton" stand-up character].

I wasn't doubting his ability to bring a grin to the nation; I was pointing out that his arena was variety. He was an all-rounder, not a stand-up.

I used to be a fan, when I was [a lot] younger. I had a Russ Abbot annual for Christmas [EDIT: this one! :D]

Stewart Lee
Jimmy Carr
Sean Lock

and I must admit that Michael Mcintyre is growing on me.

I used to like Lee Evans but found him becoming very stale.
