I think what messed with my head slightly was after I sent those texts was she called me up at 11pm slightly ****ed telling me how sorry she was and we could have a good future together. The next day when I tried to get in contact with her there was no reply. Alcohol eh.

Have you never been drunk called someone and then remembered in the morning? Surely this is a rite of passage?

The worst is drunken facebook, I wish I could apply a gmail plugin I have for email that asks me to do basic arithmatic or semi basic spelling for facebook. In the past it would have saved me a few red faces. But mate! ( I have overused 'mate' tonight, but then I am a cockney born in Stepney, have a banana) you (I've) Learn't a lot from these red faces. Mostly don't use your phone or browse facebook when drunk. It helps. TBH that may explain why I have posted a lot on OCUK tonight since I got in. Just can't sleep.
 
I've yet to put anything stupid on facebook drunkenly rather amazingly, just amusing stuff.

I've converted that bad habit about texting stuff I'll later regret into a useful one, rather than texting people I tend to make notes on my phone about my thoughts at any particular moment in time. Which always makes interesting reading in the morning...

when you guys were going for dinner etc, did you turn around and say "I'll pay for this" when the bill came?

sounds like you've been trying to be her boyfriend, and now that's not worked out you're annoyed with her for not reciprocating, as if you feel she should have feelings for you because you've been providing for her etc
not really how it works

but I don't know the whole situation, so this is just how it looks from the outside

Nope. she just sort of stood there and looked at me. I couldn't say well you pay. Same when we went for drinks and to the cinema. At least I got a kiss. lol Ive always been told though that the man pays for the meal and the woman pays for the drinks.
Her twin has said she likes me though. Not too fussed anymore though.

You deleted ALL your facebook comments saying she looked nice, and expert her to be what... pleased? Yes, that's weird. Then deleting her off of Facebook, which would obviously pee her off no end, and complaining that things are "difficult" now?

I'm still at the point of being surprised that some people seem to think one of the harsher punishments that can be inflicted is to delete comments/people from Facebook. It's a communications tool, either delete them and don't contact them from then on or don't do anything, there's no point in pussyfooting about with it.

As for the original question, it may be the girl has less money than you and it embarrasses her to have you pay but she doesn't have much of a choice if she wants to spend time with you e.g. you're only going to the cinema or out for meals with her. Then again she might just be using you for a free lunch quite literally - that's not something any of us here are likely to know. If the latter is the more likely scenario then you can either explain to her what you're feeling or you can just cut contact and be done with it but don't go to some halfway point and mess around as you'll almost certainly be unhappy with the situation as it isn't getting properly resolved.
 
Reading these comments is actually a sobering experience and will take it all on board for future reference. Honestly.
