When I changed my HU I just stuck my finger where the cassette tapes go and pulled.

If you get a CD to eject then pull the power, would that give you a convenient handle to pull?

Pulling only worked on mine because it had been fitted so poorly, the cage actually came out with the old HU. AND there was money in the dashboard, paper money!!

Is it round holes or are they flat?
If they are flat Halfords will find the correct keys for you if you ask.

If they are round, just get a fat paper clip, or metal coat hanger and unfold them, and then stick them in the holes.

I was thinking that is a possibility, the new one is an Alpine.

IME Alpine's use a funny clip mechanism, no keys

Got the old one out with the PCI slots, now I'm trying to connect the aerial connection.

It doesn't seem to fit, do I need some sort of adaptor?

Hmmm, well I've just found out the unit doesn't even power on. Can't think why though....
