Shame they don't let you dl the beta ready as tomorrow night is going to be terrible everyone downloading at the same time.

Can you register a soldier name yet with the key you have? I don't want to be screwed and not get my name because someone who used play.com managed to register long before me on steam.

soldier name will be made in the client prolly. so you wont miss out @ steam people

Yeah once you've downloaded and installed the beta you have to create and link your BC2 soldier to an existing or new EA account (just like BF2) which will then be your name for release (if you want).

Also dont know it is been said or not yet, but for steam pre orders the beta will appear in your uninstalled list tomorrow (6pm CET, whats that 5pm GMT?) and presumably like other steam games you cd key will pop up when you start it.

I think early access refers to all pre-order customers from any store/site/steam. EA hinted that this would not be a closed beta, when they stated that the only way to guarentee a chance to parciptate was to pre-order, this implies that non-preorder customers might also be able to access the beta, and hence early access is for pre-order customers as opposed to the rest of the world.

Can't say i agree with getting the beta then cancelling orders, what makes me laugh is people in here spend stupid money on pc stuff then moan about a few quid cheaper from somewhere else.

I pre ordered mine from steam for the beta key. Then Steam released it now I got it on Steam

Not been at the PC all day today. Where can I download the BETA, or do I have to wait until tomorrow to get the client? Would be nice to get it all done now and ready to go tomorrow.
