I dont think a P90 would be suitable. I think something like a G3 with an automatic pistol for backup would be much more suitable.

have you ever actually, you know, used an AR-style weapon? with proper maintainance in dust/sand free environments the AR platform is... acceptably reliable. roughly one stoppage in 100 rounds.

similarly, Automatic pistol? time and again Auto-pistols have been proven to be absolutely useless for anything other than turning ammo into smoke and noise at the range.

Not all ways mate the Falkland Islands Defence Force ( still part off the MOD) use the steryer AUG as it's rifle since 1986.

If you are talking about the SCAR L maybe, but again that runs into the issues of the 5.56 round.

The SCAR H I fear would be too big, so not too sure if either would really suffice.

(I am also a huge fan of both though

)

Stop calling the L85 rifles the SA80 please.. that's the entire family of weapons including the L85 variants, LSW and even the shockingly hideous cadet version; the L98.

yeah was more thinking Light version not the heavy ones.
but surely that is all you should need as a guard. nothing too heavy and still accurate

and i have no idea about the bullets tho ^^

other thing you could do is like what a friend of mine has as a guard in the swiss army, just a nice big grenade launcher

Sentry's are usually there to look and be seen as a show of force, a P90 would be suitable but unlikely as 5.7mm is still an unadopted round, so you'd hardly give you're sentries a different round from your main security, realistically they'd all use the same or a small variety of rounds to simplify armoury storage.

SCAR L with the 11.5" barrel is quite good - nice and short and also reliable, a reasonably good choice, but the P90 is still ideal because of the large magazine capacity.

Why is everyone in here talking like they have actual genuine real experience with any of the guns mentioned outside of PC gaming? Am I missing the joke? How many of you have even fired any of the guns you're talking about? Even once? Someone get 5 minutes on the range in Texas with an M4 and now they know about Assault rifles?

I'm interested in knowing how many opinions in this thread come from real world knowledge/experience or MW/MW2?

Mine would possibly be a bit of both, but as i'm old and i was amongst the very first in the UK to use the SA80 (running paralell with the SLR), i'm not up-to-date with the new names for some of the older iw's.

Yes, please do not comment on anything you do not have real world experience with, such as any other religion than your own (or atheism), any other political choice than your own, hell anything that you do not have first hand experience, as that is not what DISCUSSION is about!

Personally I have handled some assault rifles such as the FN FAL, AK47 (And had a look at Steyr AUG A1 without getting to fire it

) and numerous shotguns as well, so I think I can make a reasonably educated guess on other ones.
