350Z Good Idea?

Having driven a 350z I'd agree it fits more with the GT description other than the useless load space. It's much to heavy to be a focused sports car.

Discounting fuel and oil consuption RX8's don't seem that expensive to run. As a very leftfield choice how about a S15? They look good, are fairly rare and offer decent performance.

Depending on which Type-R, you're probably correct. Insurance on an EP3 Civic will probably be a damn sight cheaper than the insurance on an S2k or DC5. Don't forget that the S2000 has ~ 40bhp more than the Civic Type-R.

£11k is perfect Integra or S2000 money though :D

S2000's look really nice, but I'd want 4 or 5 seats. Plus I work in IT across dozens of sites in the city so I often need space to chuck PCs in the boot/back seats.

Integras are also very nice, but a tad older than what I'm after.

I warned you I was picky :D

In that case I would be very careful about the 350Z. The boot space is very restricted due to the cross brace.

I ruddy love these. Don't see them often but when I do, have to double take. What are they like performance/handling wise? Are they a worthy successor to the 200SX? They don't seem very popular, is it import only or something?

Get whatever your heart tells you to get, if you can afford the running costs then just go for what hits the spot most. Why compromise if you don't have to?

Late last year I made a switch from a 1.4 Corsa Design (my first car) to a 350z and never looked back. Fantastic car to drive.

Don't discount the RX8. Running costs aren't too bad at all.*

I love mine, I get 18mpg and use 1 litre of oil every 1,000 miles. But I still love it. Besides, it looks better than a 350z ;)

*That bit was a lie.

They're basically an upgraged s14 200sx. The basic shell is the same but with improved bracing so they're a lot stiffer. The engine is also basically the same as in the s14 but without the restrictive exhaust and a better turbo. Import only sadly.

But the RX8 is slow and gutless, and you still only get 18mpg? If you are going to suffer 18mpg average, then you may as well go for something a bit nutty.

Thats a matter of opinion of course :P i think the oposite granted its more practical as i looked at one before i got my 350z but at the end of the day the 350z gave me a far superior feel good factor, and it was faster and used less fuel so for me at the time there was no contest, however now i have a 8 month old kid id definately consider the RX8 were i looking for such a car
