hd 5970 availability?

No, the stock (3 or 4 different types of 5970 cards) is coming in over the next 72 hours I was told. Pre-orders shipped first and then the remaining will be shown as being in stock.

I would recommend keeping an eye out for it coming in (especially Monday and Tuesday) as it is difficult to know how many are waiting to jump on the stock when it becomes available (or am I just being completely paranoid:D)
 
My first ATI since the X500 :P

Looking forward to the switch as well, I've been sitting on a copy of Crysis warhead and vowed not to play it till I got my new GPU. It's taken a little longer than I'd initially hoped lol
 
Im definitly going back to them. I wasn't bothered about upgrading till bfbc2 beta.Now I cant wait.My 295 has been great. Overclocked well but it's noisey and,....I just want a new toy lol.
 
I've started checking obsessively now lol - they should be coming between today & tomorrow... I hope they arrive today!

Wow I can't believe some of you guys are upgrading from a GTX295.... sometimes I had second thoughts on upgrading myself and I only have a meagre 8800GT!
 
Just phoned, and they say they're trying to negotiate a stock for this week. nothing solid :(, and that the stock usually comes in batches of 10-20? which is different from what fatboy mentioned.. I dunno whats going on, but fingers crossed and hoping to get my order out from the coming batch.

They better be having a laugh, I've already had to cancel 2 orders with other companies because of this same issue and haven't received my refunds for those either. Fatboy, can you please confirm that the statement you made before still holds?

You mean for the Sapphire OC included?

I trusted what Fatboy said (he's the ordering guy isn't he?) ie that between today and tomorrow a large consignment of Sapphires only was coming which would take care of all Sapphire pre-orders and leave 100+ in stock...

Guadizba, tell me you didn't order a Sapphire please...

I see on the website, it states ETA tomorrow. :cool:

Had a delivery card from DPD and got all excited (which is sad for a grown man really). Unfortunately it turned out to be a tree that the wife ordered... gutted! :(
 
Just confirmed the status of the Sapphire order over the phone with a chap at ocuk. He explained that the cards wouldn't all be arriving at the same time (batches of ~20) throughout this week, although the total amount will still eventually result in a surplus after the pre orders have been accounted for.

I hope you pre-ordered a Sapphire guadizba, if not I'm sure OCUK will let you change your order to another manufacturer, apparently I am number 16 on the list for the 5970 OCs which is a lot higher up than I thought it might be seeing as I only placed the order on Friday.
