If I remember correctly, Prince of Persia and FarCry were only available in the USA.

I think I have downloaded PoP before and it said it was only available in USA.

they sell them as part of a pack afaik. don't think it's illegal though if they own a licence to sell it.

I downloaded PoP with out any problems.

All you had to do was select the us from a drop down list instead of the uk and the game was yours.

That was ages ago when it was first made it freeware

How come Game, HMV etc sells MMOs that no longer exist or are gone F2P?

Steam will have had the license to sell them before they went freeware and will do so until the license expires.

My educated guess.

Farcry and Prince of persia are no longer available as freeware anywhere. Even says that in the link.
