HELP!

im trying to build my cathedral but need 2500 nobelmen to advance i have built more houses and resourses, all my people are happy, tax is on its lowest, but they wont advance.

What can i do ???
 
To get more noblemen your patricians need to be 'ready to advance' - i.e. all their needs are showing green and tax is lowest. You also need to have available ascension rights (granted by beggars, envoys and more house of lower classes) so patricians can advance, check the scroll tab on a marketplace where the noblemen figure should be something like 52/60, so 8 more patrician houses can upgrade. Finally make sure there are available resources to upgrade the houses, you'll need wood, tools, stone and glass IIRC in this case.
 
Building houses and getting beggars, it's basic stuff. The more houses you build, the more that can be upgraded. Don't you have enough room for 2500 nobles?
 
I'm currently on the Master Builder mission and doing okay so far. Just need more nobelman (3500) to continue construction of the cathedral. However, I'm worried about my fur coats. I have a couple of hundred tonnes in stock so supply at the moment is fine, but my bear caves are running low, and one has run out compeltely. I had to invade and take over an AI island to gain more caves (and somewhere for more bread and beer making). Now as far as I can see, you cannot replenish a bear cave unlike mines. So surely I have a limited time before I start losing nobelmen? Don't want that to happen before the cathedral is done :(
 
Can't you pay to refresh those resources, like you do for water norias? I'm sure you can do it for stone mines, at least on the easier settings, but I've never had to restock a bear cave.
 
Yeah was gonna say the same, it's been a while since I have been at such a high tier but I remember being able to refill them just like any other resource.
 
Maybe I'm missing something then :o. Wil have a look when i get back from work. And I always delete and rebuilt norias when they run out for some reason.
 
It's been a while since I actually played this cracking game, with the expansion due next month and news that it adds multiplayer I thought this thread could do with some info bumpage; -

Whaaaaaaat!?! I had no idea an expansion was coming, awesome!

Sales must have been decent if they got the funding to make an expansion, I always thought it was one of those gems that nobody had played but was really excellent :o

I need to re-install, I was running out of space due to another drive failing however It's always good to rebuild from scratch so you know what needs doing :)
 
Had no idea there was an expansion coming either!

I may have a little blast on this gem again soon.

Makes me wish they would make a new Age of Empires game, based in the same time period as the first!
 
a continuous multiplayer would be awesome! trading and defending each other etc. sounds exciting XD i want to play this so bad but new ssd comming in the morning so may as well wait before i install it. should help with those insanely long loading times.
