**HTC HD2 Thread**

Having some issues here. I need to move my contacts from my old sony ericsson to the new hd2 on windows vista.
I dont have outlook, so windows mobile centre wont let me do anything, all the contacts are in my windows contacts...

Anyone got any ideas? :(

Edit: Huzzah for bluetooth!! :D
Just need an alarm now and im happy.

Or use 'Microsoft my phone' Copies all contacts to there site, then syncronise back again.

Worked for me.

Any recommendations on sd cards? Looking at 8 or 16gb for around 15 quid if it's possible for a half decent one?

I got an 8GB Sandisk for £12.98 from a competitor.

Looks like they changed the design of the car kit : http://wmpoweruser.com/?p=12298

Ill get one when I've got more spare cash, will be nice to hide away in the dash so I have satnav available wherever I go

I bought this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/FoneM8-Dedi...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1265153759&sr=8-1

Seriously, for £7.95, it's perfect. No faults at all. Can take pictures of it in my car etc if you're dubious.

His SE wouldn't have been WM I assume? :)

OK New question time! :D

So I've flashed my rom, installed a load of funky apps (anyone have a working version of g-alarm or should I buy the latest?) and now I need some help with interwebs.

I went to "Set up data connection" and chose UK -> O2 and it seems to work, I get a big "H" symbol in the notifications bar when I update stuff - whats that stand for and did I do the right thing?

Secondly, I have email set to send/receive every couple of hours, and weather to update every few hours. When they do so, are they smart enough to connect, udate, disconnect? Or do I need an app for that. Also, the 3G mode in conn manager says "Auto mode" or "GSM mode", which should I choose?

I have an unlimited web pack from O2, but I worry about usage allowance and battery life so dont want this thing hoovering the web 24/7!

Thanks :)

I also have a question :). Since updating the ROM when ever I bring up the keyboard to enter a number or a question mark, it will place the ? at the front of the text rather than the place I want it to! Its annoying. Also in comm manager there is a spelling mistake, it says connectionss lol.

And to Helium_Junkie that H means HSDPA I think.

Andy Pandy - make sure before you go to put the question mark in you select the word/character from the T9 list of words FIRST.

It only took me about a week to work that one out :p

H is HDSPA/3G type thing - fast internets!

You'll need an auto disconect app if your really bothered.

I have a G Alarm 1.51 cab file if you want :)

Yes please :) email in trust or a link would be great.

So I'm still a little confused as I cant seem to turn mobile internet off.
In my notifications I have the icon for [3G] and a signal strength with 3G written on it.
Is the [3G] just telling me that 3G is available? is the signal strength icon the actual connection status?

trying to install things and have the same problem that this person did

"A lot of these apps won't install due to being unsigned?

//edit Rotation is a wonderful thing "

What does he mean by rotation?

Cheers I'll try that :D

Is there a way to make the messaging threads look more like the apple style? I.e. messages from me one side, them the other? Just for extra clarity.

got mine yesterday, contract was up for renewal was intent on getting the 3Gs for months, but when i really started looking into other options last month in anticipation of upgrade time, this beauty flashed up on my radar, didnt matter what other options i looked at i kept coming back to the HD2, so i went down to the shop last weekend and had a play about with it, i fell in love instantly.

it was a bit daunting going from a normal phone to this but i have quickly got a grasp of most of the features.

not my first experience with a WINMO device but my previous one left much to be desired and put me off smartphones/pocketPC phones, but this latest version with the sense UI i find is very impressive, and a pleasure to use.

not suffered any bugs as of yet and am very impressed with its performance!.

network - o2
1200m
unlimited texts
unlimited web
24months:o
phone free
£40 per month

i probably could have gotten a cheaper deal, but shopping around and ordering over the net and having it mailed to me were unrealistic options for me due to my situation and location.
still i am happy with my phone:D
