Thanks for that contribution earlier setter, only just got a moment to analyse it, I think it's fair to say Fritz is pretty well optimized for multi-core and judging from your results it seems adding in another four extra *logical* cores results in a net speedup of 25% . . . I would have expected more actually but for someone who is pressed for time and really needs to plough through a ton of data processing then every little helps I guess!
I do like Hyper-Threading but it's not something personally I would pay a large premium for as it doesn't benefit me in the tasks I do or the games I play . . . . some people have said it hinders some games and the framerate actually increases once the HT is disabled? . . . can't say that is anything other than rumour though but it makes you wonder, anyway thanks again for the results, that 4.0GHz shot without HT enabled is going to come in handy!
