How much do you spend on food a week?

About £100 for 4 people and that includes £5 delivery.

Then usually get a takeaway and i buy my food at work which usually comes to £20 a week :(. Going to have to cut back, I spend a small fortune on junk food.

Around £30 a week as a student, oddly enough I don't eat much junk food when I'm away from home :o

hmmm we have tried cutting down this year, at the moment we spend typically £30 a week for the both of us, that includes food to take to work too.

I spend too much money on milk, I drink more than anybody I know.

Budget overall is probably £20-30, 1 person.

I'm quite lucky in the respect that my parents allow me to eat the food in the fridge at no extra cost as part of my board but extras for work (So if I decide to buy a sarnie instead of making one I buy myself) and fizzy pop (As my mum hates it) I just buy myself, i'd say I probably spend about £30 a week on food when i'm at work (That includes Milk for cereal etc)

I occasionally have a take away if my parents are out or something and that's an extra £6-7 tops normally.

100 quid just on myself a week.

Fresh veg everyday, the whole healthy eating lark i do costs a fortune. I know if i was prepared to eat anything i could cut that by two thirds and eat just as much.

I spend far less on fags a week, and that what i spend is just 3 eats a day... two of which consist of a 1/5 of a box of special k and 4 yogs costing no more than a quid fifty for a pack:/

Why do people buy water? I don't understand.

It's one of life's great mysteries. Or it's because they're gullible idiots. That's not aimed at anyone in particular, just a generalisation at people who buy a product that one can get simply by turning a tap.

Personally I spend around £15/week on food but that's because all I do is get the bread and cheese for the week on a Saturday morning.

Currently its probably around the 30-40 quid mark for 2 of us. However about 6 months ago I found we were eating out 4-5 times a week so its was closer to the 150-200 quid mark (I do love nice food which I don't have to cook myself though)

It's probably not far off £25 for the week.

On a monthly basis I go to the supermarket to get all the tinned and dried stuff. This usualy comes to between £20 and £40 depending how much stuff I have in stock, things like pasta and rice I keep loads of. This will also include household stuff.

I head down the market on a saturday get most of the fruit and veg, it usually comes to about £5-7, pop a long to the cheese stall and get some chedar, two rashers of bacon and anything else I need, usualy about £4 there. Go to the bakers for some bread rolls which are a pound. If I need meat I then go to either the butchers of to the farmers market. That can be anything up to about £6. I will also get a couple of pints of organic milk for £1.20.

During the week I will need to get more bread and milk so probably another £3.

Always makes me smile when someone eays healthily as they are don't want chemically processed food, but then put the white stick in their mouth that has 5000 chemicals:p.

£100 a week on food is insane!

Wants and needs my friend.

Smile as you wish, but i have an extremly active job... unless i eat a wheel barrow full of veg and good protein im dead on my feet.

3 years ago, i was 18 stones massively overweight, i took one hell of a journey of trial and error to get where i am today.. too little, not enough ect, what i will/won't eat... fussy eater since a child unfortunately.

Cutting the cost isn't realy an option, it's not about chemically processed foods or whatever... i just never want to go back to being what i was when thats all i ate.

That costs unfortunatley, but ill stick it because feeling as healthy and as fit as i did at 15 feels amazing at 35.
