Hey guys I have a quick question, my current rig is

Processor:
AMD Dual Core 6400+ (3.3Ghz)
Memory:
2GB Corsair XMS2
Hard Drive:
660 GB Total
Video Card:
ATI Radeon HD 4870 Sapphire 512MB
Sound Card:
SB X-Fi
Operating System:
Windows XP SP3
Motherboard:
ABIT FATAL1TY AN9 32X nForce 590

Using the current technology I have what should I upgrade to see the most performance? I was thinking of adding another 2GB of XMS2 and Windows 7 64bit, would I see much of an increase with this? What would you suggest?

Around £100, maybe a bit more if it means an upgrade worthwhile. I can get Windows 7 fairly cheap as I'm a student aswell :)

Id say the ram and windows 7 definitely.
Your cpu is still quite good, and your graphics card can still easily handle most things you throw at it :)
If your mobo could support it, you could stick with XP SP3, and buy the new ram and a 2nd hand 4870 and crossfire them, that would give a large performance boost

So go for the 4GB and Win7 64bit edition :) This Mobo only has one GFX slot unfort :/
