amiga days blast from the past

I towered my Amiga 1200 and still use it. Also have a A2000. You just can't get games as good as Dungeon Master or platformers as good as Shadow of the Beast, etc. on the PC.

Bard's Tale series for the Amiga are quite literally the most fun gaming I've ever had on any platform.

Also 4 simultaneous players playing on Hired Guns was a great multiplayer experience long before that was de rigueur, but then I made a null modem cable so me and my mate could play Knights of the Sky multiplayer ****ing brilliant :D :D :D

does anyone remember Another world and its sequel FLashback ...? lol that blew my mind.

im looking at a top 100 list of amiga games and im sure i had every single one - Owning an amiga was pure piracy lol

One of the greatest ones ever made on the Amiga: Jesus on E's

Stunt Car Racer was a pretty goody game.

Mad driving game with a nitro-burning hotrod buggy on a rollercoaster shaped track. It was crazy :D

Ahh the memories, I used to take my Amiga round to a mates house (actually he's on these forums - sizetenbootz or something!) and we'd play this for hours linked up via a serial cable.

Stunt Car Racer was awesome, still one of my favourite games ever actually. Fantastic fun and at the time it was so immersive with Geoff Crammond's typical physics genius

I still get goosebumps watching this intro:

There was so much more emphasis on graphical/musical artistry by game developers back in the Amiga days, now it's just all about pushing graphics and realism.

The guy who wrote the music for these demos - Echo as he was known back then used to live a few streets down the road from me in Grantham many years ago..

We were good friends till he turned to drugs and went a little off the rails. He moved down south many years ago, heard he'd cleaned himself up and was doing quite well.

http://www.spoonwizard.com/ you'll see some if his past and newer works. Really keep meaning to get in touch, must be like - ooh 14 years since I last spoke to him.

Enjoy.... Was an excellent game in its day, just very short. Must have played it through about 20 times, and I did actually buy it..!!:D

i found a archive of every amiga games released called ( tosec ) contained 20,000 roms which is about 5000 games.

its only 3 gig but its a 7z file and extracts to 17 gb.

so couple that with winuae = amiga heaven.

i often show my little cousin who has been brought up with psp and xbox what games i played when i was his age.

he loves them, especially superfrog and lemmings.

I got an A1200 and accelerator card, coupled with a 4Gb CF Hard Drive with WHDLoad and about 2,000 games installed, hooked up to a 1084S Commodore monitor, a Competition Pro Joystick and a Konix Speedking Joystick in January. Utter utter gaming bliss.

Btw, if anyone's interested, you can still buy brand new (old stock) Amiga 1200s and bits on www.amigakit.com :)
