Alexander McQueen dies, 40

Blimey Nimzicki anybody would think you loved him.

Anyway, just heard some of his styles went into Matalan so I might be wearing something by him now.
It's also sad that he killed himself because of the death of his Mother.

If somebody ignored and derided the entire works of ACDC after they all copped it because they didn't know who they were, you would be miffed too :) I'm not a fashion freak, it's just a case of credit where it's due.

Not everyones life revolves round expensive rags that are out of fashion a week after purchasing

Maybe not, but the clothes that you buy in a years time from your local TK Maxx/Matalan/Primark will be inspired by those "expensive rags" currently being shown on catwalks the world over.

I have to admit I have heard of him and knew he was in fashion but couldn't exactly say what he is famous for in fashion. I always thought of Steve McQueen when I heard his name. Suicide though, that's silly.

Not going to say RIP because it makes me cringe :(

I have No sympathy for Anybody that commits Suicide , I only feel Sorry for those that are left behind wondering like I was when my Fave relative killed herself.
On top of that I'd Never wear any of his designs as they were Gash.

No you wouldn't wear them, nobody would (expect that 'tard Lady GaGa) but what gets filtered down in to the high street from the cat walk shows, you would wear. Low rise jeans when they were popular, skull prints which are currently everywhere, tailored styles, all McQueen, you just don't know it.

, all McQueen, you just don't know it.

...or care frankly. I really don't give a monkey what over-hyped dress maker "designs" the clothes I purchase or wear. Yes I went through a phase when it mattered to me that I was only seen in Armani Jeans, FCUK or Firetrap but now I've grown up I realise just how unimportant designs are.

I have smart business suits for work.

I have casual jeans and t-shirts for home.

I have warm clothes for the winter.

I have cooler clothing for the summer.

The designer of them is totally irrelevant to me - all I care about is the clothes do their job, which is to keep me warm, dry, comfortable and smart when called for.

Yes it's a shame he felt the need to kill himself - but that was his choice and the world (even the fashion world) will go on just fine without him. It's his loss that he is no longer with us - not ours.

I think the widespread practice of tossing out throwaway, insincere "RIP"s when you hear someone died is more disrespectful than saying you have no idea who they were.

Bull**** is worse than honesty.
