What brought you to OcUK?

I had ordered some parts from the site, then went back and clicked the forum link out of curiosity. Mine of useful information, and a spot of good humour now and again.:D

I googled something techie and got a page on here. Registered, and they never approved me so was in the ether for around1.5 years. Finally got around to sending them an email about it, got approved, and been here ever since. It's a brilliant forum in general for anything tech-related, though with a few well-known caveats. :)

I spotted someone on here with a similar sound problem that I was having, signed up to ask a question, then when I started overclocking got advice from here as well.

Can't remember it was a few years ago, it must have been when i was buying from the site and stumbled across the forum.

My mate turned me in this direction to buy my BARTON!!!

Saw the forums, and browsed for ages before signing up. Would hate to think of my post count if I did join up straight away!

Sirrel Squirrel originally found this place and he told me about it, got curious signed up, and that was that.

theoverclockingstore.co.uk closed, which at the time was the best overclocking store online as this place had a really bad reputation. Luckily ocuk has come a very long way since those days :)

The overclockingstore.co.uk was a great site, free delivery on everything which might have been the ultimate cause of their demise. During a particular period, between me and the blokes at work, hardly a day went by without something being delivered from them. Sometimes it would only be a few fans and some spiral wrap or something equally low value.

When they went under, I started using OcUK a lot more, not least because of the forums which were always helpful with overclocking and moding advice. As you can see from my join date, I was a little slow in re-registering after the forums were wiped, my overclocking must have been on a slight downturn at the time.

Bought parts for my first system from here, Namely Athlon Thunderbird 800MHz which I OC'ed to 1GHz, Was signed up to the forum before the nuke, only made a few posts now and then. Then one day I couldn't log in, wondered what happened, then just never bothered to sign up to the forums again, until a few years ago now.

One of my mates joined here looking for the answer to a question he had, I can't even remember what it was now. I read the forums a couple of times while he was getting the answer and then joined up when I could (had to be an email account that was either university/work/your own domain back in the day) and have been posting ever since - as far as I'm aware he's barely been back on after asking the initial question(s).

I have no idea, I know my first question was about a 3 monitor setup but I had been lurking and tried to register long before that.

I was the first person through Millennium Computers doors (Overclockers) and used to go in the shop about 3 times a week at least.
I can't remember when exactly but I had a question that Pete (former owner) couldn't really answer and he said go on the forums and ask.
I went on the forums, used a competitors name and got suspended within about 3 posts.
After 2 days I asked the same question again and got suspended for a week :)

i came here looking at dell 2209wa reviews and to get more info on monitors and found the general forum to be good so i am still here.

been buying from ocuk for years, ocuk is legend. if i am ever in bristol i want to visit the shop. don't know if you have a shop or if just an amazon style warehouse place ?

i thought you were in bristol, did they move ?

I got my first Pc from OcUK in 2001 and read the forums back then they were just about overclocking. Didn't join till 2004 to ask a few questions about asp .net for my uni course. Never left after that.
