It's very fashionable to be an atheist, and I'm not surprised that such a closed-minded, herd-following numb-brained lot as the OCUK majority would go that way.

Hindu here.

ah so 117 people with as much faith and belief as a religiuse person.

If you can't guess, agnostic.

Science can't prove for or against a Deity, toppled with the fact i don't really care. However I still find religion fascinating.

I have to agree.

Raised Christian, now agnostic.

"A person who claims neither faith nor disbelief in God." Sounds about right to me.

Atheism is as scary as any extreme religion/anthropogenic climate change :D.

How very accepting of you.

:p

Agnostic for the reasons above (AcidHell), the other religions are probably wrong in my mind but I can't prove it either way.

Im not a religious person at all now, used to be strict irish catholic, however. My brother currently lives in israel, his girlfriend is jewish, of romanian descent, hes not very religious either, however he says that he finds the whole religion thing over there fascinating, he works along with christians of different sects, muslims and jews, one group in particular ive heard him talk about are the druze.

I am a Jedi :D.

I don't have a religion, I don't believe in any gods but don't automatically assume there aren't any, I assume there probably aren't any but I'm not 100% sure. So I can't vote for atheist because I'm not 100% sure there are no gods/deities... I mean I tend to say ''there is no god'', but at the same time, I simply don't know and I'm not sure.

I don't believe in a god or a deity, just because if there's someone with a higher ability does not mean they should automatically become a god.

I mean if there was a group of people who've never ever seen the rest of the world before have never seen another person outside of their group, living in the most basic form, sees what we see and they don't understand our technology etc and think we are gods, does it make us gods? No.

If we are able to create life, intelligent life, are we gods?

Lastly if like the poster;

Why so many atheists? If a big face appeared through the clouds, said "I am God, fear me", and started performing miracles or causing the apocalypse, you'd still maintain that there isn't a God?

Agnosticism for me.

Yes, why should someone who say he is a god, make him a god?
He would just be a being who has a big face that flies in the clouds with supernatural or highly technological capabilities beyond our comprehension, I'm sure it/he/she would have a name.

But why automatically jump to god?

Even if we were created by someone, again the repeating ever so broken question, why? Maybe he was a scientist!

I don't believe in gods and do not think any current ones claiming to be are worthy enough of my time/thoughts/efforts if they are all passed down from one person to another through stories and books. I can believe in a way of living and I'd probably take up some religion if it wasn't for the fact they believe in something I don't believe exists.
I do believe gods are a human creation, a title given to someone by the same people, us. They could have very well be people like us but with fluff like titles you have today.

Also do you think your god, called himself or knew he/she/it was one before they well, created us? (should your religion believe that they created you).

So I just try be a good person all round if I can, respecting other peoples religions and letting them be.

I am atheist.

No. if we could create worlds, stars, solar systems, universes and change anything at will and live for eternity then we could be considered GODs

What's that got to do with it, a Deity does not have to be linked with any religious text one Earth.

I'm probably a bit of both atheism and agnosticism... I don't know how to explain it, I often find people who are hard believers stupid ( no offense guys) and really dislike religion, but at the same time I can't completely say they don't exist, I don't have the proof.
Agnostic atheism
the view of those who do not claim to know of the existence of any deity, but do not believe in any.

Agnosticism is not a religion though...

And why not, whos to say that in a few thousand years time that jedi isnt a religion, a few thousand years ago, sun worship was a religion, in the last 30 years, scientology has become a religion.

I've put down athiest but I don't know now. I don't believe in anything; no god, no afterlife, no eternal suffering for "sins". So am I an athiest?

No I'd say you are agnostic.. People that say they are atheists make a point of going around saying 'hey i'm an athiest and there's no god'

Though I the term is mis-represented and agnostic people say they are atheist.

Agnostic people just couldn't care less.

Atheist make a point of it.

There is no faith or belief involved in being an Athiest. That's the whole point.

You are so so wrong. Atheist requires just as much faith as religion. Agnostic is the one which requires no faith.
Atheist is a view that no deity could assist. You can not prove this. Science is unable to deal with such a question. So to state that a Deity could not possibly exist anywhere is a massive leap of faith.

Agnostic people just couldn't care less.

Atheist make a point of it.

If you ignore weak/strong which was introduced to bolster numbers
Agnostic is don't care/can't be proved either way
Atheist is a belief no deity could possibly exist anywhere.

I'm Atheist.

I don't find it "fashionable" in any way. In fact I'd say Agnostic is more so.

I don't believe in the existence of a God, and I'm in no way interested about others' beliefs. I understand them, I can see what they want to personally achieve through them, but it doesn't interest me in the slightest.

I'm similarly not interested in arguments regarding them. EVERYTHING can be attacked as a "belief", nobody can win when it comes to theology.
