Microsoft?

Well this is a Windows orientated forum filled with overclockers, gamers and the like so what else would it be. Plus the only Apple thing OcUK sell is an iPod and even they aren't that amazing compared to other mp3 players.

I think it's more likely someone will come along and take over Google's search/ad business than someone come along and take Microsoft's desktop and office application business.

Cost of entry is huge in either case but barriers to change are much lower for online services.

How can people sit here and claim Microsoft make bad OS's? I'm willing to bet 90%+ of this forum use XP/Vista/7, and when the new one is released, I bet you will all move on to that too!

Indeed. I thought all the MS, sorry, M$ bashing ended in the 90s?

I wonder if apple would be less annoying if they didn't make everything single thing they produce out to be some massive innovation.

"Heres yet another ipod its now .00000002mm thinner than the last version" Fanboys erupt to the point of orgasm while the rest of the world looks on thinking...and?

Then you have the mouthpiece Jobs who just may as well stand there for an hour and say nothing but "amazing, beautiful and boom".

I find it amusing watching their shows, they really do have this grand dillusion that they own the computing market when in reality they have around 35-40 million users for their computers...not a bit of wonder they changed their name from Apple computer to just Apple considering theyre probably more well known for ipod than anything else.

It's amazing, really, from a marketing point of view. They've cornered this technique. I laugh, hard.

I also love their Microsoft bashing technique, they let that one eyed french git out of his cage every so often to slabber about windows every now and again. Apparently Jobs isn't upto the task of doing that anymore.

Its amusing though how easy it is to get the drones in the audience laughing, especially since they regurgitate the same bs year in year out when it comes to Microsoft bashing and apparently its still fresh, new comedy.

At the iPad keynote didn't Jobs get a cheer for denouncing netbooks as crap?

I wonder why Apple might feel like that? Perhaps because their bottom range macbook is almost as small as a netbook, a bit more powerful but costs £800 perhaps?

Of course they hate handy little laptops for net browsing and IMing that only cost a couple of hundred quid, they take sales off the £800 macbook :p

Apple denouce everything they don't have an answer for as crap. You just have to go to youtube and look at "applesoldier" channel to see how brainwashed some of these peons are.

Theres apple users, then theres the fanboys who see themselves as the "enlightened few" on a crusade to preach the word of Jobs to the masses.

I think this is interesting in itself. Ten years ago Apple were irrelevant to the MS fanbois. Now Apple is "annoying".

This sums up Apple for me:

"For much of the UK audience, it's possible that a familiarity with Mitchell and Webb, counts against their effectiveness [in the Get A Mac ads]. Knowing that Robert Webb plays the opportunistic insincere Jez does not exactly enhance his role as an honest friendly broker for Mac. Similarly, knowing that David Mitchell is likeable, decent and intelligent (albeit a loser) doesn't ultimately put the PC character in as bad a light as in the US version."

Everything they do nomatter how small is trumpeted as some massive "innovation", the media gets to hear about it, jumps on the Jobs gravy train and you hear about it for months on end.

Its annoying in the sense that people living outside the apple reality distortion field can see through the bs.

10 years ago there was no where near the same amount of advertising + apple "fanbois" which is what is actually annoying not apple itself;)

Microsoft should stick to software if you ask me.

I think they messed up pretty bad with the 360. All the RROD problems cost them big time, and they wont live that down for a long time.

But hey, if your making that much money, why wouldnt you want to make hardware and make even more money.
