Assassins Creed 2 - Dx9 Only, No Nvidia PhysX Support

I would advise no PC gamer to buy this anyway its a horrible game & badly made. I bought the 360 version on release & was lucky enough to sell it for little financial loss once I had completed it.

I can confirm AC1 on PC is superior in every possible way & AC2 features PS2 level gfx  (yep I'm not kidding either).

Read my earlier post's on the subject they tell you pretty much all you need to know & are fair & accurate!

Check your eyeballs or settings. I played it on PS3 and it looks almost identical to AC1, maybe slightly better. Plus it has full day/night cycle, more variety, swimming, etc.
Not to mention that it is superior game to AC1 in every way. AC1 was more like tech demo, AC2 is the real game.

Dunno what you are smoking tbh.

Is there more variety in the gameplay? - I liked the first game to begin with but like you say it felt like a tech demo. I realised it didnt have much depth to it and the missions all seemed the same. I think I got about half way before I gave up.

Yes, the missions are very varied and interesting.

I played it through on the PS3 (which isn't PS2 graphics like someone said above ). My bro and his mates also played it through and everyone agreed it is a much better game than number one. It isn't simply "go here and kill someone" but has much more to offer and I really enjoyed it despite not being able to play more than a few hours of the first one without getting bored.

The best thing about moving from the PC to the PS3 is that I am also "allowed" to sell the PS3 game on and trade it in for a new game which is great. I was fed up of buying PC games and not being able to trade them in anymore due to them being locked to online accounts, etc and having limited installs

I do wonder what they've been doing in the time it's taken to port the game over to PC. Aside from the time invested in creating yet another convoluted and ineffective DRM system, dare I hope they've spent a bit of time brushing up on the quality of the PC version, optimising the gameplay to put it a cut above common slapdash ports? If so, I'd be more than happy to shell out as soon as it dips below £20 on Steam. Seems unlikely that they've cut back on enhancing the graphics to improve gameplay, but there's always hope, and that sort of thing should really be encouraged - I'd much rather play a DX9 PC game than a DX11 straight port.

Personally, the way it looks to me is that they wanted to hit the Christmas buying frenzy and were pushed for time. So firstly the decided to delay the PC version, then secondly they decided to delay two of the chapters and release them as very cheap DLC.

I think what used up the extra time is that they hadn't finished with the PC version in the first place. And then they wanted to release the DLC and include them with it.

I love how AWPC's comments are the mirror opposite of almost every other persons I've heard about the game :p

Yes you can draw your own conclusions from that one :D

The game is brilliant, far, far better than the original. More varied gameplay, and a damn good story. I can't wait for the final part.

I stand 100% behind all my comments on this game if people do not like an honest opinion and want to be rude about it I'm not going to lose any sleep over that ;)

Be interesting to see how keen people are when they actually buy the thing......

How was I being rude?

And I did actually buy, and complete the thing...

Out 5th march

the next official release date is the 5th of march. The delay was due to graphics driver issues which was the same reason the first one was put back from release.

I'm sick of these comparison of the STeam HW list.
Anyone want to take a guess on how many people only have Steam installed for CS or MW:2?
Neither are demanding games.

I just hate Ubisoft with a passion :o

I guarantee most people with pirate the game anyway, due to the awful DRM.

The DRM is the WORSE DRM EVER.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/33230/

3rd-party DRM: UBISOFT REQUIRES A PERMANENT HIGH SPEED INTERNET CONNECTION AND CREATION OF A UBISOFT ACCOUNT TO PLAY THIS VIDEO GAME AT ALL TIMES.

http://support.uk.ubi.com/online-services-platform/

What will happen if I lose my Internet connection when I play the game? Tough ****!

If you lose your Internet connection the game will pause while it tries to reconnect. If the Internet connection is unable to resume, the server will have stored your last saved game and you will be able to continue from where you left off once your internet connection is restored.

I have never complained about any DRM on a game before and have never been inclined to jump on that wagon, however as a PC gamer I think this is a step too far and as such, this will be FIRST game I have ever boycotted owing to its DRM.

It's a vicious cycle, it will be fine if people just boycott this to show their feelings, but I have a feeling most will just pirate it, leading to developers taking even harshers stances.

Then surely its upto developers and these companies to realise you make it even worse for legit buyers and then NO ONE buys it. Not just the usual pirates.
