Yes, by quite a large factor. This is why they aren't getting off their arses and going somewhere else.Don't BA staff already get paid a lot more than other airlines?
Indeed they do. Meanwhile . . .Don't BA staff already get paid a lot more than other airlines?
British Airways is facing a lengthy strike by cabin crew next month after employees voted strongly in favour of a walkout.
Some 81% of the cabin crew backed strike action following a row over staffing cuts and proposed changes to working conditions. The turnout was 80%.
The strike dates have yet to be announced but Unite has ruled out an Easter strike after adverse public reaction to the Christmas strike. It must also give BA seven days' notice of strike dates.
A recent poll held by Bassa, Unite's cabin crew branch, has indicated strong support for a walkout lasting longer than 10 days. (The Grauniad)
BA Cabin Crew have just voted overwhelmingly in favour of a strike - surprise, surprise!
I hope BA downsize due to market conditions making thousands of staff redundant. That'll serve them right.

It would be interesting to hear these guys take on it, I'm guessing cabin crew aren't too popular with their colleagues to be honest.Yes, all the pilots, baggage handlers, administrative staff - serves them right for not striking!
Cabin crew (Unite) are NEVER popular with pilots (BALPA) who see themselves as being "special". As a result, neither side ever supports the other when it comes to strike action. This was apparent when BA pilots voted in favour of a strike last year following BA's formation of "OpenSkies".It would be interesting to hear these guys take on it, I'm guessing cabin crew aren't too popular with their colleagues to be honest.

No, they just want a longer break.
Actually I believe that this is already happening:Exactly, maybe they should question the wisdom of antagonising the cabin crew by volunteering as strike breakers. ...
I suspect that BA pilots will start to bring packed lunches on flights from now onWe understand a number of pilots have responded to BA's call for volunteers to keep the airline operating through any strike and from their postings it is clear that this is out of concern for their own futures and that of other employees. You mean a return to the selfish, greedy Thatcherite mantra of "There is no such thing as society, just *ankers who deserve huge bonuses for gambling with your savings"... I look forward to the resulting further diminishment of the much abused power to strike over nothing at all under the next administration.

Good luck to them and I hope they get what they want.
Nice to see a bit of fighting spirit in the UK.
So you advocate a small group bullying to get people to cede to unreasonable demands that will have a long term negative effect on everyone involved in the setup?
Well, it's a position I suppose... Do you think that the cabin crew will be able to maintain their salary and perks if the airline goes into bankruptcy?
