Strange, I didn't like the demo at all, all it is is pushing buttons that appear on the screen, press 5 buttons to get him to use his inhaler .....

I guess I will wait a few months and then maybe buy it 2nd hand

It's all about the story so I can't really see the demo being particularly gripping. It'd be like turning Seven or The Usual Suspects on halfway through and only watching 20mins of it.

Any bargains to be had for this game? (or does anyone here work at a supermarket and know what it's price is going to be on Friday?). Just after a cheap vanilla edition, not bothered about no SE rubbish. Still have a day or so to cancel my pre-order if the supermarkets go crazy and sell it for £29.99 etc.

I pre-ordered somewhere a while back for £33 but the cheapest I can see online at the moment is £38

The SE comes with the first DLC so for once its actually worth getting if at all interested in getting any DLC for the game - though I know it now goes for £43 so its probably not worth it now - I got it at the £40 price...

Dont think the games big enough or has enough mainstream appeal (including the fact its PS3 only) to have the supermarkets to do a cheap day 1 price...

Kinda weird this one. I tried the demo out for the first time last night and started slating the game for weird button combos and being nothing more than a case of pressing buttons when it tells you to. I also didn't like the movement, in that you hold a button to walk then press the direction.

Then 5 to 10 minutes later I found I was still playing and actually got quite into it. So much so that I'm gonna buy it ;) So yes, I'm glad I didn't write it off within the first few minutes as I can see myself thoroughly enjoying this. Just a shame I can't find it anywhere for under £38 but never mind.

Ive been telling everyone to try the demo twice - the first time you are still actively fighting the controls and why they seem to be form over function - its only til the second go you let go off your pre-conceptions...

Is the story well presented to you, Haly? :)

Any chance you could sum up your experiance so far? :D
The story is exceptionally well presented, told through the eyes of the various characters you play as. It grips hold of you the more you play, and as it seems that anything can happen, you're never sure right till the end what the outcome will be. It definitely kept me on the edge of my seat.

To sum up, it's already one of my contenders for Game of the Year (along with Mass Effect 2), and I'll be really surprised if I play a better PS3 game all year.

I've had this on pre-order for a while now. I'm getting a little concerned with some peoples comments regarding the control systems and just timed button presses. Am I just reading this wrong and it's not a case of: Press X to jump, press X to go through door, press X to bash robber over the head with a flying pan, press X to talk to shop clerk, press X to walk out of the door.

I didn't want to play the demo as I don't want anything spoiled :)

the game element is built around quick time events of various types. but the fights (as shown in the demo) are probably more intense because of it. It seems very focused on the story and I can't wait to get my hands on it :D

I'd play the demo if I were you, it spoils nothing in terms of the story (nothing that you won't already know if you've followed the game at all) but gives you a great intro to the controls :)

Ok, thanks, I'll give it a whirl :) I followed some of the game, but I've only seen two videos. One was that conference one of the guy introducing the game and talking about it, the other was that one with the store clerk and the detective guy.

I'll be getting this but a week or so after release for £30 or under hopefully! Looks really good but I have enough games to tide me over!

Only game I can see me buying on release date is BF:BC2 and that's just so I can get some good upgrades!

Thank you. :)

I'm glad I pre-ordered when I did. The DLC and extra bits and bobs will be a nice addition to the game. :D

I ordered it for £34 quid, so unless the DLC is more than £6 I don't really mind. Otherwise, you will be right, and I should have got the SE when it was £40.

I have a friend that works in the right department in Tesco so I'll ask him and report back :D

Any update on this?
