Sky+HD Offer

Perfect summary. Sky aren't doing this for some charitable reason, they are doing it in a desperate effort to con the millions of people who don't want to pay to watch endless adverts and plugs to sign up.

How much do you have to shell out per month in order to "Save £291"?

Freesat is the way to go :)

Freesat is clearly not the way to go if you want things on the Sky package, like live football for example. Different people want different things.

I'm detecting a lot of anger towards Sky in this thread, I have to say that I work for them in the customer services department (please don't send someone to kill me) and that I more than most am in a position to know about skys flaws this deal isn't one of them.

If already wanted sky its brilliant, you just get to save a big ol pil of money.

You can cancel after 12 months if you wish, no problems their just give us a call.

If you move home it will be a charge of £60, if you push for it then a lot of the time you can get it for free.

The full TV package is normally £48.50, so at half price its £24.25 which is what most people are paying for just the standard packages without the sports and movies.

I gave a few of these away recently and no one I know has had any problems with them so far.

My only anger would be that there are never deals for existing customers!

And the fact that for £24 a month I can go to a gym, get fit and meet people rather than stare at a screen full of adverts on my own, vegetating whilst getting fatter and lazier ;)

this! I understand that new business is more interesting to sky, but it would be nice every so often to see Sky have an offer for existing customers wanting to upgrade to HD!

Yeah we're existing customer here too, would love the HD box but we can't justify the price of installation at all heh :/

I have Sky HD with all the packages and oddly enough I dont sit and watch it 24 hours a day on my own, vegetating whilst getting fatter and lazier. Oddly enough I think you will find that quite a lot of people who have sky dont sit there all day watching, equally you will probably find that a lot of people who do sit and watch tv all evening actually dont have Sky. Having Sky /= being lazy. Having Sky does however = being able to watch the tv shows that I really enjoy such as Dexter/The Pacific/True Blood/Babylon 5 and so on :)

I've just signed up using the code from HDUK, got HD-pack with everything except sport for £19.50 a month and then added multiroom with a standard box (which I'll swap for my old sky+ box) for £10.
£29.50 for all of that is a pretty decent deal imo.

I just rang up Sky as my contract is up. I want HD but the best they can do is £30 Post Fee for Box (install myself!!!!) and £10 a month.. Sounds crap deal. Cheers sky

It took sky 2 months for them to install a new dish when me and my girlfriend moved house... I was told i would have to pay £100+ for them come and install. I went mental, i was then told they could do it for £60. Now quite frankly, i should have had it free due to the VERY poor service that i received from them, and from your statement it would seem that they were not prepared to help me at all, and thus fed me more lies to get me to pay the full amount. Seriously, that company sucks!

Any existing customers had any luck with this? Perhaps rung Sky and tried your luck? Bit irritating that this is for new customers only - what about the people who've already paid you lots of money you plebs!!
