There are now 3 5830's available for preorder, 2 regular shape for £210 and 1 egg cooler for £205. The £210 Powercolor 5850 has gone up to £220 though!

So what do you all think of these? My thought is are they really that close to the 5850? only a tenner in it, the 5830's do come with low prices for game bundles though, AvP for £205 compared to the £250 5850 version.

Wouldn't touch them witrh a rather larger stick at them prices, 5770 if cash is tight or 5850 if you want proper performance for your money.

I was waiting for these now i wish i hadn't, guess i will have to play the waiting game for 5850's to come down in price. I could get 2 x 5770's i suppose but are they any good with a res of 1920 x 1200 if i buy just one card for now and get another later on to xfire. I have a saphire (non reference cooler) 4870 1Gb at the mo so i don't want to sidestep.

Also, i thought overclockers where the 'prefered supplier' for Saphire in the U.K.. If so, how come they have no stock on launch day. Sorry my mistake they are due tomorrow, lets see how many, er, fly off the shelves.

A good few users on these forums have given this set up a big thumbs up.:D

Did consider this myself but decided that I'd be better served with a 5870 so cannot comment from personal experience, sorry.

Can anybody else give a thumbs up for the HD5770 at 1920 x 1200 (thats a single card for now though not xfire as that will come later).

Sorry i know i should start a new thread on this but there is probably a hundred already which i will go and search now.

To be fair an honest with you I would go for the 5770 option. If it was hard earned I would go for the Sapphire 5770 part or the XFX XXX.

And can you recommend a reputable graphics card dealer to buy said graphics card Fatboy. Just kidding :D. But you do realise i have to take your posts with a pinch of salt seeing as you work for OcUK

Actually i think i will wait this out a little longer until fermi comes along. There is only bad company 2 coming up for me game wise so i will see how it runs on my 4870 and go from there.

He could have advised you to spend more and go down the 5830 route, but he didn't. Imo I would also go for the 5770 over the 5830. It's simply not worth the cash. :)

Ahh, after seeing the reviews it looks like a total fail on ATi's part, I'll wait for Fermi to pick up a 5850 :D

And to think i paid £200 for my 5850 with dirt 2 on launch :p

Hoping to pay up to £210 for the Powercolor version that comes with Dirt 2, as the price went up to £220 when the 5830 was added, I'm hoping for a drop back to £210 when Fermi is added.

There has been no DX11 card that intrests me yet  I can wait. And that's said only living 5 minutes down the road from overclockers.:p
