my girlfriend set up a multi car policy with churchill in feb with me as a named driver on her car.

my renewal is due in a few days and am a little confused as to how to go about it.

our main plan was to get both of us insured on both our cars.

does my girlfriend have to phone churchill and just add my car to the policy? or do i have to ring and set up my policy and link it to hers?

if my car gets added to her policy i will be a named driver on both but one of the cars is my main car and the other hers, to be a named driver you have to drive it less than 50% of the time.

so does anyone have a multi car policy and can shed some light?

I thought the main idea with multi car policies is when the main driver had multiple cars?

Dad looked into it for 3 cars but it ended up being cheaper to do them seperately anyway, not sure how much you actually save using them.

Our friends have a multicar policy.

Each have a car, each is the main driver of one and a named driver on the other. The policy was created with hers, then when his policy was up for renewal they rang up and added his car to the policy and they paid a pro-rated premium.

So to answer your question:
does my girlfriend have to phone churchill and just add my car to the policy?
this.

with admiral its worked by the number of cars in the house hold, each policy works individually in terms of it has its own price, each policy earns its own NCB. but the more cars on the same policy number the bigger the discount amount, so it can be any set up of drivers e.g. mum,dad and children all with their own cars or partners with their own cars.

That's how I thought Admiral do it, rather than what Jacob (: said.

I.E. I can have my insurance with them for my car (with me as the policy holder, me as the main driver) and because the household has another policy with them (my mothers with her as the policy holder, her as the main driver) it's cheaper and classed as 'multicar'.

Is there some good discounts to be had from doing this?

For example it costs about £600 in total for me and gf to insure both cars seperate, could we save a fair amount off this/

I have just taken out an admirial multicar policy and paid £1023 for me (27 3yrs NCB, 1 non fault claim) and other half (31 7yrs NCB) fully comp for a 04 1.1 C2, a 94 Celica GT and a 92 Shogun.

Last year i paid around £700 TPFT on the celica and the other halfs was £280 so its saved me some money :)
